This study employs bibliometric and thematic analysis to evaluate the growing body of research on subjective well-being and quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings underscore the pandemic's profound impacts on global health, evidenced by a notable increase in studies addressing mental health and quality of life, fostered by international scientific collaboration. Keyword analysis reveals critical themes, including the pandemic's influence on mental health, physical activity, and social support systems.

Methods: Sixty-five treatment-naive eyes of 65 patients with CSC, 65 fellow eyes, and 55 eyes of healthy age-matched participants were included. The presence of intervortex anastomosis at the watershed zone and asymmetry of the choroidal vessels between the superior and inferior macula were evaluated using 6 × 6 mm en-face SD-OCT.

Sensors fabricated by using a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform provide promising solutions to issues such as size, power consumption, wavelength-specific nature of end reflectors and difficulty to detect ternary mixture. To address these limitations, we proposed and investigated a broadband-thermally tunable vanadium dioxide (VO)-based linear optical cavity sensor model using a finite element method. The proposed structure consists of a silicon wire waveguide on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform terminated with phase-change vanadium oxide (VO) on each side to provide light confinement.

Most affected patients are males due to the inheritance of mutations in the FVIII gene from their mothers. Females are mostly found to be carriers unless they inherited the mutation from both parents.

More specifically, the performances of the headlights containing halogen, xenon, and LED light sources in dark and foggy weather conditions are examined and the performance of each headlight is evaluated separately. According to the general result of the visibility experiments, the participants perceived the target object in a shorter time when halogen headlights are used.

The questionnaire form constructed by the authors was sent online to obstetricians working in different cities of Turkey. A total of 206 obstetricians participated and answered a self-administered questionnaire.

Many studies have reported on the association of COVID-19 with pregnancy-specific adverse outcomes, but prediction models utilizing large cohorts of pregnant women are still lacking for estimating the risk of maternal morbidity and other adverse events.
Objective: The main aim of this study was to develop a prediction model to quantify the risk of progression to critical COVID-19 and intensive care unit admission in pregnant women with symptomatic infection.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA) and chromosomal abnormalities. The study included 5211 women having attended our unit for fetal anatomic screening and fetal echocardiography from August 2016 until February 2019. After diagnosing ARSA, prenatal invasive testing was discussed with the patients.

We report the prenatal diagnosis and outcome of pregnancy with fetal PA anomalies and discuss the related management issues. We identified four cases of prenatally diagnosed rare PA anomalies that were seen and confirmed in the newborn period by echocardiography and computed tomographic angiography at our center from 2018 to 2020.

Oral glucose tolerance testing (OGTT) increases the maternal plasma glucose levels temporarily and mimics metabolic hyperglycaemia. The blood flow of the uterine artery (UtA), umbilical artery (UA), middle cerebral artery (MCA) were assessed before, 1 and 2 h following the OGTT by using Doppler ultrasonography.

Pregnant women may be particularly vulnerable and experience high levels of distress during an infectious disease outbreak. The aim of this study was to determine anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives With clinical experience from previous coronavirus infections, public health measures and fear of infection may have negative psychological effects on pregnant women. This study aimed to compare the level of anxiety and depression in the same pregnant women before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods The pregnant women continuing pregnancy who participated in the first study which was undertaken to clarify the factors associated with mental health of pregnant women before the COVID-19 pandemic, were included for the current study during the outbreak.

The aim of this study was to compare the rates of low folate status and vitB12 deficiency between pregnancies with a NTD-affected fetus and those with a structurally normal fetus in a low-income population residing in eastern Turkey. It was a retrospective cohort study conducted in our perinatology unit in eastern Turkey between 2016 and 2018. The inclusion criterion for the study group was pregnancies with an NTD-affected fetus.

Materials And Methods: Patients aged 18-38 years who had a normal uterine cavity, at least one normal fallopian tube, and regular menses and were unable to conceive despite unprotected intercourse for at least 12 months were randomized to receive CC alone, uFSH alone, or sequential CC and uFSH before a single IUI. The primary outcomes were clinical pregnancy and live birth rates.
This study aimed to elucidate the diagnostic process, the associated anomalies and the perinatal outcomes of right aortic arch (RAA) in a group of low-risk patients. The obstetric imaging database and digital patient files were reviewed between January 2015 and June 2016. There were 12 RAA cases detected prenatally.

Heart examination, including four-chamber view and outflow tract views, should be routinely performed for all women as recommended by The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG). Although the anatomical survey of foetal heart is well-defined, current knowledge on myocardial contractility is scarce.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel noncontact technique based on hydrodynamic trapping is presented to study the dissolution of freely suspended liquid microdroplets into a second immiscible phase in a simple extensional creeping flow. Benzyl benzoate (BB) and n-decanol microdroplets are individually trapped at the stagnation point of a planar extensional flow, and dissolution of single microdroplets into an aqueous solution containing surfactant is characterized at different flow rates. The experimental dissolution curves are compared to two models: (i) the Epstein-Plesset (EP) model which considers only diffusive mass transfer, and (ii) the Zhang-Yang-Mao (ZYM) model which considers both diffusive and convective mass transfer in the presence of extensional creeping flow.
