Oral administration of cysteine peptides attenuates UV-B-induced skin erythema and pigmentation in humans.

The oral administration of antioxidants may suppress UV-B-induced skin damage. HITHION YH-15, the extract of Torula yeast (Cyberlindnera jadinii), is rich in cysteine-containing peptides such as reduced and oxidized glutathione (GSH and GSSG), γ-glutamylcysteine (γ-Glu-Cys), and cysteinylglycine (Cys-Gly). These four constituents are termed cysteine peptides.

Coordination-Mediated Synthesis of Ga-Labeled Purification-Free Trivalent Probes for in Vivo Imaging of Saturable Systems.

A large excess of unlabeled ligands over gallium-67 (Ga) provides Ga-labeled probes with high radiochemical yields in a short reaction time. However, the unlabeled ligands hinder target accumulation of radiolabeled probes by competing for target molecules. To circumvent the problem, we investigated the way to prepare Ga-labeled multivalent probes from monovalent ligands.

The reliability and validity of the Oppositional Defiant Behavior Inventory.

Objective: The aim of this study was to develop an evaluation scale for use as a supplementary tool for the diagnosis of oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).

Method: The subjects were 98 Japanese children (91 males and 7 females), aged 6-15 years, diagnosed with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or ODD. Internal consistency, test-retest reliability, concurrent validity and divergent validity of the oppositional defiant behavior inventory (ODBI), an evaluation scale of oppositional defiant tendency, were examined.

Behavioral and developmental disorders among conduct disorder.

The purpose of the present study was to clarify the percentage of children with conduct disorder (CD) who also have behavioral and developmental disorders. A survey of comorbidity observed in children with CD, was carried out on 33 subjects from a disciplinary facility for children. Female teachers as the mother were interviewed as regards the subjects' condition using the semistructured interview, and male teachers as the father were interviewed for their psychosocial problems.
