Background: Dentin hypersensitivity is a global oral health concern. This in vitro study and clinical evaluation tested the efficacy of 0.454% stannous fluoride toothpaste stabilized with nitrate and phosphates (SNaP) to occlude dentin and reduce dentin hypersensitivity.

Planning a mentorship program according to the target audience offers to satisfy different interests and enhance education. One of the main issues with most of the already implemented programs is the sustainability and inability to maintain continuous cycles of mentorship, which have a negative impact and have led to an interrupted pattern of learning which eventually leads to a decline in the engagement of participants and loss of interest.

The need for collaboration and connection of people worldwide to exchange ideas and experiences in neurosurgery is a challenge. Surgical Neurology International® (SNI)/SNI Digital stimulated the establishment of the joint effort to bring the discussion about the best experiences in neurosurgery from the United States and Iraq together in an internet meeting format.

Methods: This clinical study was a single-center, user-blind, monadic study conducted in Mississauga, Canada. Adult subjects who presented with a tactile hypersensitivity score (Yeaple Probe) between 10 and 50 grams of force and an air blast hypersensitivity score of 2 or 3 (Schiff Cold Air Sensitivity Scale) and met all inclusion and exclusion criteria were entered into the study.
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of a test regimen (TR) integrating the use of a commercially available triclosan, PVM/MA copolymer, and sodium fluoride containing toothpaste, an alcohol-free, fluoride-free cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) mouthwash, and a manual toothbrush with cheek and tongue cleaner compared to a negative control regimen (NCR) integrating a commercially available 0.76% sodium monofluorophosphate toothpaste, a manual toothbrush and a fluoride-free and alcohol-free non-antibacterial mouthwash in the reduction and control of established plaque and gingivitis after 4 weeks of product use.
Method: A 4-week, two-cell, double-blind, parallel-group, randomized clinical study was conducted in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, USA.
Aim: To determine the safety and effectiveness of biphasic insulin aspart 30 (BIAsp 30) in Algerian patients with type 2 diabetes initiating insulin or switching from prior insulin therapy.
Methods: Insulin-naive and insulin-experienced patients, including prior basal insulin users, starting BIAsp 30 were evaluated in this sub-analysis of the 24-week, open-label, non-interventional A₁chieve study. Clinical safety and effectiveness was evaluated as a part of routine clinical care.
Objectives: The aim was to examine the biological activity of 5-methoxytryptamine derivatives at the 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT)(4) receptor to explore the effect of substitution on the aliphatic amine of the 5-methoxyamine scaffold.
Methods: Three compounds were tested for affinity at the 5-HT(4) receptor by radioligand binding and functional activity using guinea-pig ileum and human colon circular muscle preparations and also in the mouse whole gut transit test.
Key Findings: The three compounds all had agonist properties at the 5-HT(4) receptor but their efficacy differed in the different functional tests.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy on plaque and established gingivitis of a new specially engineered sonic powered toothbrush with unique sensing and control technologies as compared to two commercially available power toothbrushes.
Methods: This examiner-blind, three-treatment, parallel clinical study assessed plaque reduction via the comparison of pre- to postbrushing after a single use, and following four weeks' use measured by the Rustogi Modification of the Modified Navy Plaque Index. This study also assessed gingivitis using the Löe and Silness Gingival Index after four weeks' use.
Objective: To compare the efficacy ofa dentifrice containing 0.3% triclosan, 2.0% PVM/MA copolymer, and 0.

Within each series, binding experiments showed compounds with good affinity demonstrating high percentage displacement values at 1 µM. The most potent of these (20) had a pKi of 8.

Methods: We included 310 patients, 138 with Type 1 and 172 with Type 2 diabetes, 62 of them with hypertension. Cardiac autonomic neuropathy was assessed by analysing heart rate variations during three standard tests (deep breathing, lying to standing and Valsalva) and looking for postural hypotension.
Objective: The objective of this double-blind, randomized, parallel-design clinical study was to compare the efficacy in reducing dentin hypersensitivity of a novel toothpaste containing 8.0% arginine, calcium carbonate, and 1450 ppm fluoride to a benchmark desensitizing toothpaste containing 2% potassium ion and 1450 ppm fluoride, and to a control toothpaste containing 1450 ppm fluoride, instantly after a single direct topical self-application using a fingertip, and after subsequent brushing twice daily for three days.
Methods: Qualifying subjects from the Mississauga, Canada area who presented two hypersensitive teeth with a tactile hypersensitivity score (Yeaple Probe) between 10 and 50 grams of force, and an air blast hypersensitivity score of 2 or 3 (Schiff Sensitivity Scale) participated in this study.
Objective: This paper presents the results of one of two eight-week dentin hypersensitivity clinical studies in which the efficacy of a novel toothpaste containing 8.0% arginine, calcium carbonate, and 1450 ppm fluoride as sodium monofluorophosphate (MFP) was compared to that of a benchmark commercial toothpaste containing 2% potassium ion, dosed as 3.75% potassium chloride, and 1450 ppm fluoride as sodium fluoride (NaF).

Two models were produced and compared for predictivity, the first by alignments based on atom overlapping (model A) and the second by adding agonist binding site interacting points of the 5-HT4 receptor (model B). Comparison of the two models showed that the q2 value for model A was 0.

After a baseline examination for extrinsic tooth stain, qualifying adult men and women from Canada were randomized into two treatment groups balanced for age, gender, and level of extrinsic tooth stain. Subjects were instructed to brush their teeth twice daily (morning and evening) for 1 minute with their assigned dentifrice (Group 1: nonwhitening dentifrice; Group 2: whitening dentifrice).

Material And Methods: Direct costs included costs associated with hospital stay, laboratory testing, medical and surgical treatment. Lesions were classified in 3 groups (I, II, III) according to their importance (Wagner classification).
The objective of this double-blind clinical study was to investigate the tooth whitening efficacy of a variation in formula of a commercially available dentifrice (Colgate Total Toothpaste). The variation (Colgate Total Plus Whitening Toothpaste) was the addition of high cleaning silica to the existing formulation. Following a baseline examination for extrinsic tooth stain, qualifying adult male and female subjects from the Mississauga, Ontario, Canada area were randomized into two treatment groups which were balanced for gender, age and level of extrinsic tooth stain.

Objectives: In two clinical trials of 8 weeks duration, the ability of a new dentifrice, containing potassium nitrate, stannous fluoride and sodium fluoride to reduce dentine hypersensitivity was compared with either a non-desensitising fluoride dentifrice or a commercially available desensitising dentifrice (Sensodyne F) to reduce dentine hypersensitivity.
Method: In both studies, the participants had to have at least two sensitive root surfaces. Subjects were stratified by baseline tactile and air blast sensitivity scores and the number of sensitive teeth and randomly allocated to 2 balanced groups.

The synthesis of novel bisquinoline compounds comprising 4-(4-diethylamino-1-methylbutyl)aminoquinoline units joined through the 2-position by a (CH(2))(n) linker is described. Their ability to inhibit the growth of both chloroquine-sensitive (D10) and chloroquine-resistant (K1) strains of Plasmodium falciparum, the hydrogen peroxide-mediated pathway for decomposition of haem, and the conversion of haem to beta-haematin have been measured. The activity was affected by the length of the linker and the most active (6c, n=12) showed effects similar to chloroquine in three of the assays.
