The introduction of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination has been an integral force in stopping the spread of COVID-19 across the globe. While reported side effects of vaccination have predominantly been mild, in the last year reports have emerged of myocarditis following the BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNtech) and mRNA-1273 (Moderna) vaccinations. The adolescent and young adult population have been the population most reported, with over 1000 cases under review by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) since April 2021.

Mortality and socio-economic outcomes among patients hospitalized for stroke and diabetes in the US: a recent analysis from the National Inpatient Sample.

The prevalence and incidence of diabetes mellitus (DM) are increasing worldwide. We aim to assess mortality and socio-economic outcomes among patients hospitalized for stroke and diabetes in the US and evaluate their recent trends. We examined: in-hospital mortality, length of stay (LoS), and overall hospital charges in diabetic patients over 18 years old who were hospitalized with a stroke from 2005 to 2014, included in the National Inpatient Sample.

Arabian Peninsula ethnicity is associated with lower ovarian reserve and ovarian response in women undergoing fresh ICSI cycles.

Purpose: Recent studies have demonstrated that ethnicity can be an independent determinant of assisted reproductive technology (ART) outcomes. In this context, we investigate whether ART outcomes differ between Arabian Peninsula and Caucasian women.

Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of women undergoing fresh intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)-embryo transfer (ET) cycles for male factor infertility.
