Some aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of eosinophilic granuloma in cats.

Introduction: Eosinophils represent the most active cells in mammals that show protective and assistive activity in the host immune defence against helminth parasites. These cells are also responsible for the reduction of allergic and inflammatory reactions. The eosinophils play a key role in allergic reactions by secretion of different chemical molecules leading to swelling, lesions and granuloma onset.

REPRESENTATION OF KIDNEY DAMAGE AT THE MOLECULAR LEVEL IN PATIENTS WITH UROLITHIASIS BASED ON THE STUDY OF ENZYMATIC TEST INDICATORS.

The aim of the work is to improve the results of early diagnosis of acute infectious kidney diseases at the molecular level in urolithiasis (urinary stone disease) through the study of enzymatic test indicators. Enzymatic tests (NGAL, IL-1β, β2-microglobulin) were investigated at the molecular level using the IFA method in the urine of patients with urolithiasis. Comparative and prognostic significance of the conducted treatment was established between the groups of patients, and an algorithm was developed based on the results of kidney damage predictors.

Sorption of Polar Sorbents into GO Powders and Membranes.

The comparative study of sorption of polar substances acetonitrile and water into powders and membranes (>10 μm thick) of modified Hummers (HGO) and Brodie (BGO) graphite oxides was performed using isopiestic method (IM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Additional sorption data were obtained for pyridine and 1-octanol. Sorption measurements were accompanied by conventional XRD and XPS control.

Ten Years of African Swine Fever in Ukraine: An Endemic Form of the Disease in the Wild Boar Population as a Threat to Domestic Pig Production.

(1) Background: African swine fever (ASF) has been present in Ukraine for more than ten years (2012-2022). The purpose of our study was to perform a retrospective analysis of the spread of ASF to assess the role of wild boar in the epizootic expansion in Ukraine. (2) Methods: Statistical materials were collected and the epizootic situation of ASF from 2012 to 2022 was examined.

Prevalence of chlamydia-related organisms with zoonotic potential in farms of the poltava region.

Objective: The aim of our work was to survey private farms in the Poltava region on the prevalence of Chlamydia-like organisms Waddlia chondrophila and Parachlamydia acanthamoebae.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The PCR research was conducted in 2018-2019 at the Institute of Pig Breeding and Аgro-industrial production of the NAAS. The study materials were 300 vaginal scrapings of cows and 28 samples of clinical material of pigs and boars with a suspicion of a chlamydial infection, which were selected at private farms in the Poltava region.

Role of NaCl level on the handling and water mobility in dough prepared from four wheat cultivars.

In bread, NaCl plays a number of roles including improving flavor, functionality, dough handling, and prevention of sticky dough. Its reduction can create significant processing challenges. As such, the dough handling properties for four wheat cultivars (Pembina, Roblin, McKenzie, and Harvest) were investigated as a function of NaCl (0-4%) level.

Effect of salts from the lyotropic series on the handling properties of dough prepared from two hard red spring wheat cultivars of differing quality.

The influence of select salts from the lyotropic series (NHCl, KCl, NaCl, MgCl, CaCl, and MgSO) on the rheology and stickiness of dough prepared from a strong (Pembina) and a weak (Harvest) hard red spring wheat flour were examined at a 1 and 2% salt levels, with water mobility and water association with different dough components also being assessed at the 1% salt level. Overall, Pembina was found to develop stronger gluten networks that were more resilient than those of Harvest as evident from a lower tan δ and less compliance during shear creep recovery rheology. However, the effect of salt-type differed based on cultivar.

[The development of the methods for the extraction, identification, and quantitative determination of alimemazine in the biological fluids from the laboratory animals under the acute poisoning conditions].

There is the present-day tendency toward prescribing atypical neuroleptics for the management of neurologic and psychic disorders. Alimemazine appears to be very frequently used for this purpose due to the broad spectrum of its actions. At the same time, cases of alimemazine poisoning with the fatal outcome have been described.

Multilayered intercalation of 1-octanol into Brodie graphite oxide.

Multilayered intercalation of 1-octanol into the structure of Brodie graphite oxide (B-GO) was studied as a function of temperature and pressure. Reversible phase transition with the addition/removal of one layer of 1-octanol was found at 265 K by means of X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The same transition was observed at ambient temperature upon a pressure increase above 0.

[The chemical toxicological analysis of sertindole].

Sertindole is an "non-typical" neuroleptic extensively used for the treatment of schizophrenic patients. The detection of intoxication with this medication implies the necessity of development of the optimal methods for its isolation from the biological materials and further identification. The objective of the present work was to study the influence of various factors on the efficiency of sertindole extraction from solutions, the elaboration of the methods for its isolation from biological objects, detection, and quantitative determination in the extracts from these objects.

Delamination of graphite oxide in a liquid upon cooling.

Graphite oxide (GO) in liquid acetonitrile undergoes a transition from an ordered phase around ambient temperature to a gel-like disordered phase at temperatures below 260 K, as demonstrated by in situ X-ray diffraction. The stacking order of GO layers is restored below the freezing point of acetonitrile (199 K). The reversible swelling transition between a stacked crystalline phase and an amorphous delaminated state observed upon cooling provides an unusual example of increased structural disorder at lower temperatures.

Improving the dispersity of detonation nanodiamond: differential scanning calorimetry as a new method of controlling the aggregation state of nanodiamond powders.

Detonation nanodiamond (ND) is a suitable source material to produce unique samples consisting of almost uniform diamond nanocrystals (d = 3-5 nm). Such samples exist in the form of long stable aqueous dispersions with narrow size distribution of diamond particles. The material is finding ever increasing application in biomedicine.

The first solid phase synthesis of pincer palladium complexes.

Both dimeric μ-chlorine bridged and monomeric bidentate Pd(II) complexes with SCN hybrid pincer-type ligands, bearing thiophosphoryl group and imine moiety of the benzothiazole ring as coordination arms, formed in the reaction with (PhCN)(2)PdCl(2) under kinetic control (20 °C, dichloromethane solution) were readily converted into the corresponding SCN pincer complexes via solid phase synthesis (neat, 200 °C, 15 min). The synthesis of pincer complexes can be performed also by heating (200 °C, 5 min) of a homogeneous mixture of the initial reactants, namely, the ligand and (PhCN)(2)PdCl(2), obtained by manual grinding in a mortar. The efficacy of solid phase approaches is comparable with the analogous synthesis in solutions under severe conditions.

[Experimental validation of the use of betamecil in ophthalmology].

Wound-healing activity of 2% betamicil ointment in comparison with the traditional stimulants of corneal repair regeneration (methyluracyl and solcoseril) was studied in experiments. The rate of epithelialization of a standard trephination wound in rabbit cornea (28 animals), mitotic activity of the anterior corneal epithelium, and strength of the regenerated tissue were assessed after use of different stimulants and in control. A maximal positive effect of local betamicil (2% ointment) was observed: the wounds epithelialized 57% sooner than in control, but there was no reliable difference from solcoseril; the regenerate of linear corneal wound was 1.

[Antiradical and antioxidant activity of derivatives of 1,2,4-triazole and quinazoline in cerebral ischemia].

Antioxidant and antiradical activity of 1,2,4-triazole and quinazoline derivatives inhibiting superradical at the initial stages of free-radical oxidation have been studied in vitro by the method of Hara P, Mista, 1972. It is acceptable for the determination of antiradical and antioxidant activity of newly synthesized compounds.

[Clinical-immunological characteristics of the state of the thyroid gland in children exposed to ionizing radiation because of the Chernobyl AES accident].

Overall 806 children evacuated from the city of Pripyat were examined for the thyroid condition. The children who received a dose of more than 30 rad for the thyroid manifested primary response in the form of euthyroid hyperthyroxinemia, a high risk of the development in future of autoimmune diseases in the lack of hypothyrosis.

[Hypoglycemic effect of nicotinamide in diabetes mellitus].

Administration of nicotinamide (NA) is followed by a pronounced hypoglycemic effect with a simultaneous decrease of glucose content in the lens, sciatic nerve and aorta at manifest streptozotocin-induced diabetes and also by a complete normalization of parameters of the intraperitoneal glucose-tolerance test in rats with a "diabetic" type of glucose tolerance. A 14-day NA treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus results in the improvement of the glycemic profile, a decrease of glucosuria and the blood serum level of protein-bound hexoses as well as positive shifts in the condition of the cardiovascular and nervous systems.
