It is reported that by the year 2040, tobacco-related deaths will exceed ten million annually. Smoking cessation programs are considered very useful in helping tobacco users to quit, but it is a very difficult addiction to break; thus effective approaches are required.

India is the second largest tobacco consumer and the third largest tobacco producer in the world. The current trends of tobacco use in India includes 1 million deaths per year, and the problem is worsening, and also, tobacco use will cause 13% of deaths in India by 2022.
