Background: Synovial sarcomas are uncommon malignancies that mainly affect adolescents and young adults. Most arise from the deep soft tissues of the extremities, but they can occur in other parts of the body such as the lung. Synovial sarcomas after radiation therapy are rare, in contrast with other sarcomas, with only six reported cases.

Various alterations of lipid homeostasis have a significant role in the pathophysiology of the artherosclerotic process. The effects of usual lipid-lowering agents such as statins, fibrates, or niacin are well known, but other endocrine therapeutic agents could also affect the blood levels of various lipoproteins and, in turn, influence atheroma formation. In this review, we attempt to summarize the effect of several hormonal and non-hormonal endocrine agents on lipid metabolism, including insulin, thyroid hormone, sex hormones, glucocorticoids, growth hormone, and several anti-diabetic agents.

Objective: To present a case of hypercalcemia associated with Castleman disease.

Methods: The details of case presentation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment are reviewed in a 25-year-old woman with severe hypercalcemia, joint pain, conjunctival injection, and lymphadenopathy.

Results: Endocrinopathies such as primary hyperparathyroidism were ruled out.
