Introduction And Objective: Imiquimod (IQ) is an immunomodulator used in the management of penile intraepithelial neoplasia (PeIN) lesions. However, IQ treatment may be associated with bothersome side effects (SEs). To date, studies reporting on this morbidity and evaluating predictors of response to IQ are scarce and included small cohorts.

Article Synopsis
  • - The article reviews the current knowledge on penile intraepithelial neoplasia (PeIN) and discusses the potential of imiquimod (IQ) as a treatment option, noting that it may have a complete response rate of up to 63% but may also cause significant side effects.
  • - In analyzing available literature, it identifies a gap in research regarding the optimal treatment schedule for PeIN and highlights that ongoing studies in similar conditions suggest a possible regimen of three times a week for up to 16 weeks.
  • - The conclusions emphasize a lack of existing data on both the effectiveness of IQ for PeIN and the immune microenvironment associated with it, calling for more research to better understand PeIN and identify factors that could predict

We propose that spaceborne polarimetric imagers can be calibrated, or self-calibrated using zodiacal light (ZL). ZL is created by a cloud of interplanetary dust particles. It has a significant degree of polarization in a wide field of view.

Introduction: Ureteral strictures could be a chronic illness that leads to severe side effects and poor quality of life. A treatment with an Allium ureteral stent (URS), a self-expanding, large-caliber URS, was implemented in our department for ureteral stricture. Our study aim was to report the long-term results, including success rate, complications, and adverse effects.

Objectives: Patient ignorance and bureaucratic obstacles prevent initiation of hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment in patients participating in methadone treatment program. Despite high safety and efficacy of currently available oral medications, the rate of patient-initiated treatment remains low. We evaluated the impact of an interventional program on treatment success rate and factors associated with treatment engagement.

Ionizing radiation (IR) exposure results in oxidative damage causing cytotoxic and genotoxic effects. Double-strand breaks (DSBs) are considered the most significant DNA lesions induced by ionizing radiation. The present study evaluates the radio protective effect of a novel antioxidant cocktail through quantification of DSB in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) in vivo.

Objectives: To quantitatively compare the functional renal volume loss, following nephron sparing surgery (NSS) between patients in whom tumor bed closure was done by biological tissue adhesive and those who were managed by standard suture technique.

Methods: From our institutional NSS database we retrospectively collected patients who had two sequential quantitative single-photon emission computed tomography of Tc-dimercaptosuccinic acid uptake studies, the first study immediately before surgery and the second one 3-6 months following surgery. The study group included 69 patients: 26 (37.

Background: Pathology of urothelial carcinoma may vary in different populations at diagnosis. Our aim was to evaluate the histopathologic differences between Jewish and Arab patients in Israel at first diagnosis of urothelial cancer.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively collected data of all patients with confirmed urothelial cancer, treated at our department between January 2010 and January 2015.

Objectives: To report the results of the use of Bovine Serum Albumin-Glutaraldehyde tissue adhesive (BioGlue®) for tumor bed closure in open nephron-sparing surgery (NSS).

Materials And Methods: The cohort included 255 patients with enhancing renal mass who underwent open NSS. We used open flank approach, with in-situ hypothermia and enucleation of the tumor.

Introduction: A relatively high proportion of patients who undergo partial or radical nephrectomy for enhancing renal mass actually have oncocytoma, a benign renal tumor. Several parameters have been shown to be typical for oncocytoma, but only a small number of patients present with these parameters. The aim of our study was to report the clinical, operative and postoperative characteristics of patients who underwent nephron-sparing surgery in our center with a histopathological diagnosis of oncocytoma compared to patients with malignant renal tumor.

Aim. To describe the natural history of small renal mass on active surveillance and identify parameters that could help in predicting the need for intervention in patients with small renal masses undergoing active surveillance. We also discuss the need for renal biopsy in the management of these patients.

Purpose: Due to high specificity and sensitivity noncontrast computerized tomography is increasingly used to diagnose and follow patients with ureteral stones. We evaluated the feasibility of limited field noncontrast computerized tomography to follow patients with ureteral stones.

Materials And Methods: Included in the study were 71 patients who underwent diagnostic and followup noncontrast computerized tomography due to ureteral stones.

This study examines the effect of acculturation on the attitudes held by Ethiopian Jews in Israel toward domestic violence (DV). The study findings revealed the following: Ethiopians who immigrated to Israel (n = 31) held more lenient attitudes toward DV than Israeli born Jews (n = 62), which supported the hypothesis that culture influences attitudes toward DV; in addition, Ethiopians born in Israel (n = 29) held attitudes closer to those of Israeli-born Jews who were not from Ethiopian origin, thus supporting the hypothesis that integration into the host country results in changes in DV attitudes. These are important findings due to the extremely high number of DV episodes among immigrant populations in general and Ethiopian Jews living in Israel in particular.
