Expression and functional changes in the organic anion transporting polypeptide (OATP)-multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP) axis of transporters are well reported in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). These changes can impact plasma and tissue disposition of endo- and exogenous compounds.
