- This study found that BMP type I receptors, ALK2 and ALK3, were more active in chemoresistant prostate cancer cells, leading to increased BMP signaling compared to chemosensitive cells.
- Inhibiting BMP signaling with DMH1 made chemoresistant cells more responsive to the chemotherapy drug docetaxel, reduced their ability to migrate and invade, and diminished cancer stem cell characteristics.
