Lipocalin 2 (LCN2) has an oncogenic role in promoting tumorigenesis through enhancing tumor cell proliferation and the metastatic potential. The aim of our study was to determine whether serum LCN2 could serve as a diagnostic marker of cervical cancer (CC) and to evaluate the correlation between its serum concentration, the clinical stage of the cancer and Human Papilloma Virus HPV infections in women. A total of 33 women with histologically proven cervical cancer (CC), 9 women with high- grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (HSIL) and 48 healthy women (NILM) were involved in the study.

Materials And Methods: Ten matched pairs of fresh cadaveric clavicles osteotomized through the mid-shaft obliquely were repaired with a titanium 7-hole 3.5-mm reconstruction locking plate in the superior or the anteroinferior position.
The aim of this study was to investigate and evaluate morphometrically the relationship between changes in the structure of myocardial nerve plexus of the right atrium auricle and myocardial ischemia, parameters reflecting functional status of the heart, and age. A total of 56 females and males aged 20-94 years were investigated. Ischemic heart disease group consisted of 39 persons (their mean age was 63.

Methods And Results: Morphometric analysis of acetylcholinesterase (AChE)-stained nerve plexuses and picrosirius-stained cardiac collagen networks from 17 persons of both genders aged 20-94 years was performed using video microscopy and a digital video camera. It was found that with age linear regression of nerve plexuses occurred.
The objective of the study was to examine and evaluate morphometrically age-related changes in the structure of myocardium collagen network of auricle of the right atrium in control group persons, who were not diagnosed with cardiac pathology leading to heart lesion or overload, and in ischemic heart disease patients. Material of 56 persons of both genders aged 20-94 years was used for study purposes. Biopsy material of 17 healthy persons (control group, average age 60.
