We present a case of megacystis-microcolon-intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMIHS) in a four days old female infant who presented with abdominal distension, bilious vomiting, massive hematuria and feeding intolerance which was first interpreted as Prune Belly Syndrome (PBS), referred to our department after iatrogenic gastric and colonic perforation. Berdon syndrome or MMIHS is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by a massive enlarged bladder, distended abdomen, microcolon, functional obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, and malrotation.

Cervical cancer represents the second leading cause of death for women worldwide. The importance of the diet and its impact on specific types of neoplasia has been highlighted, focusing again interest in the analysis of dietary phytochemicals. Polyphenols have shown a wide range of cellular effects: they may prevent carcinogens from reaching the targeted sites, support detoxification of reactive molecules, improve the elimination of transformed cells, increase the immune surveillance and the most important factor is that they can influence tumor suppressors and inhibit cellular proliferation, interfering in this way with the steps of carcinogenesis.

Background: Supernumerary breast or polymastia is a well documented anomaly of the breast, and commonly presents along the embryonic milk line extending between the axilla and groin. However, cases of polymastia have been recorded in the face, vulva, and perineum. The clinical significance of these anomalies include their susceptibility to inflammatory and malignant changes, and their association with other congenital anomalies of the urinary and cardiovascular systems.

Introduction: The WHO surgical checklist is a universal tool which has been shown to reduce surgical morbidity and mortality and improve patient safety; however, simply implementing a checklist in a hospital may not lead to its utilisation. We aim to evaluate completion of this checklist, and to investigate problems in compliance and methods for improving these.

Methods: In July 2015 data was recorded regarding compliance with each of the components of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) in a Children's Hospital in Brasov.

Purpose: Intravaginal or extravaginal spermatic cord torsion is a diagnostic challenge for the surgeon and radiologist. Color Doppler sonography can be inaccurate, leading to dangerous false-negative results. To date, no single reliable test has been able to provide 100% diagnostic accuracy.
