Background: Knowledge translation (KT) is an essential skill to assist health academics to better develop, disseminate, and implement research findings to improve health care quality and impact, but many academics lack knowledge and skills in this area.

Objectives: This study aimed to describe the KT-informed approach used to develop the Knowledge Translation and Impact Planner (KTIPs) to improve the quality of KT planning, and to examine the acceptability of the KTIPs.

Methods: The process of developing the tool is described, including use of published literature, application of integrated KT, and consultation with end-users (n=18), including university academics, higher degree research (HDR) candidates, and experts in the KT field.

Background: Undergraduate majors in education, specifically in school health education (HE), have declined considerably in the United States. Reductions in state and federal funding for K-12 public education and increased demands on educators to prioritize standardized academic outcomes versus focusing on the whole child encompass many factors leading to fewer qualified teachers and reduced quality of HE delivery within schools.

Methods: A content analysis of over 300 HE teacher preparation programs throughout the United States was conducted from 2019 to 2020 to assess available and required curriculum for pre-service HE teachers.

Objective: This analysis of governmental health educators from the 2021 Public Health Workforce Interest and Needs Survey (PH WINS) examines demographic and workplace characteristics, COVID-19 pandemic activities and beliefs, job satisfaction, training needs, mental health, and engagement in health equity.

Setting And Participants: Participants were public health staff in public health agencies who completed the 2021 PH WINS.

Design And Main Outcome Measures: Chi-square and means tests were used to compare job satisfaction, mental health status, training needs, and health equity concepts between health educators and other disciplines in the governmental public health workforce.

The Coalition of National Health Education Organizations (CNHEO) has existed since 1972, with a mission of bringing together national and international health education organizations who serve within the United States to seek joint actions in support of the health education profession. Much success and collaboration have occurred over the last 50 years, including developing and implementing the 2018-2025 strategic plan. The nine member organizations of the Coalition paused to review individual and collaborative work in addressing shared goals and objectives around policy and mandates, preparation and professional development, credentialing, identity and value of health education, health education workforce and diversity, and research and practice.

Purpose: To identify participation-focused measures used for young people with cerebral palsy (CP), evaluate their psychometric evidence, and map item content to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF), and family of Participation-Related Constructs (fPRC) frameworks.

Methods: Four databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL) were searched for papers that involved young people with CP aged 15 to 25 years and reported original data from a participation measure. Each measure was examined for validity, reliability, responsiveness (using the COSMIN checklist), clinical utility, the inclusion of accessible design features, self- and/or proxy-report from people with communication support needs, and item content according to ICF and fPRC.

Practitioners in health departments, university extension programs, and nonprofit organizations working in public health face varied challenges to publishing in the peer-reviewed literature. These practitioners may lack time, support, skills, and efficacy needed for manuscript submission, which keeps them from sharing their wisdom and experience-based evidence. Although great progress has been made to define the field of health education and provide a voluntary certification system for professionals, research about the governmental health educator and health education specialist workforce is limited. The 2017 PH WINS (Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey) provides valuable data on understanding the workforce demographics, attitudes, and training needs of governmental public health workers, including health educators, and informs future investments in workforce development efforts nationally. Aim: To investigate temporal trends in birth prevalence, disability severity, and motor type for singletons with prenatal or perinatally acquired cerebral palsy (CP).

Method: Numerator data, number of children with CP born a singleton between 1995 and 2014, confirmed at 5 years of age, were drawn from three state registers with population-level ascertainment. Birth prevalence estimates and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated per 1000 singleton live births for the three states combined, overall, by gestational age group, by dichotomized disability severity, and spastic laterality.

Founded in 1950, the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) provides leadership to the health education profession and promotes the health of all people through six strategic commitments: developing and promoting standards for professional preparation and credentialing of community and school health educators; stimulating research on the theory, practice, and teaching of health education; supporting elimination of health disparities and the achievement of health equity; providing continuing education of the health education workforce; advocating for policy and legislation affecting public health and health promotion; and supporting a network of local chapters. This article describes how SOPHE has pursued these strategic commitments during the past 70 years and discusses challenges that will influence the future of SOPHE and the contours of the research and practice agendas of the field going forward.

Responding to an opioid crisis in Canada, policy makers have implemented supply-side interventions seldom used in the US, regulating insurance reimbursement to discourage the prescribing of specified opioids. Using national databases of all opioids dispensed through provincial pharmaceutical programs and of opioid hospitalizations from January 2006 through March 2017, we found that requiring physicians to obtain prior authorization for patients to receive reimbursement for OxyContin prescriptions substantially reduced OxyContin fills, particularly among opioid-naive patients; it also reduced overall opioid prescriptions, suggesting limited substitution. "Grandfathering" OxyNeo (an abuse-resistant OxyContin variant), allowing previous OxyContin patients to obtain OxyNeo, increased OxyNeo fills but had no detectable effect on total opioid prescriptions, which points to substantial opioid substitution among chronic users of prescription opioids.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of altering speech breathing patterns and dysphonia severity through training increased levels of lung volume use during speech. It was hypothesized that respiratory-based training would increase lung volume levels during speech as well as improve acoustic voice measures, and that the addition of laryngeal-based treatment would further improve voice acoustics by treatment completion.

Method: A multiple baseline, single subject design was replicated over six participants with primary muscle tension dysphonia as a preliminary investigation of novel respiratory treatment methods.
