Nurses' perceptions of leadership in Brazilian hospitals during COVID-19 through Kotter's conception.

Objective: to understand nurses' leadership perceptions during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazilian university hospitals, through the lens of John Kotter's concepts and his eight-step change model.

Method: a multicenter qualitative research with an analytical design. The sample comprised 139 nurses working in COVID-19 settings, interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide.

Nursing leadership strategies in addressing COVID-19 in light of John Kotter's framework.

Objective: To analyze the leadership strategies of nurses in university hospitals in response to care management changes during the COVID-19 pandemic, informed by John Kotter's insights.

Methods: This multicentric study utilized qualitative and analytical methods. It was conducted through semi-structured interviews with 139 lead nurses from 10 university hospitals in Brazil.

[Health policy dialogue to strengthen nursing in UruguayDiálogo político-sanitário para o fortalecimento da enfermagem no Uruguai].

This article presents the experience of the health policy dialogue on nursing held in Uruguay in 2021, based on the theory of change. Four working groups were held, with the participation of 725 people. The points discussed included: the shortage of registered nurses to implement programs and cover functions at all levels of health care; the poor visibility of the healthcare impact of the activities carried out; insufficient financial resources for undergraduate and postgraduate training; and poor integration of nurses in management teams and policy decision-making spaces in the country.

Ultra-processed food consumption and the incidence of obesity in two cohorts of Latin-American young children: A longitudinal study.

Purpose: We evaluated the potential associations between the consumption of ultra-processed food (UPF) and the incidence of obesity among Uruguayan and Brazilian preschoolers.

Design And Methods: We conducted a longitudinal analysis using data from preschool children from Uruguay and Brazil. The "Health, child development and nutritional survey" (ENDIS) was conducted in Uruguay in 2013-2014 and 2015-2016.

Quality of blood pressure measurement in community health centres.

Objective: To determine the quality of the blood pressure measurements performed during routine care in community health centres.

Method: An observational, cross-sectional study was conducted in 5 private and public health centres in Maldonado, Uruguay, in July-August 2015. The observations were made during the measurements performed by health personnel, using the requirements established by the American Heart Association.

Experiences of family members of patients with colostomies and expectations about professional intervention.

Objective: the objective was to understand the experience of a group of family members of patients with colostomies, revealing their expectations regarding the intervention of health professionals.

Method: qualitative research, with the social phenomenological approach of Alfred Schütz, conducted in Montevideo in 2012; twelve family members of patients with colostomies participated, from an ostomy service of a health institution.

Results: the following categories were identified: family ties, trust in the health care team, the nurse as the articulator of the process, the desire to humanize care, and adaptation to new family life.
