Improving Access to PMTCT Through the Involvement of Traditional Birth Attendants in Program Activities in the Far North Region of Cameroon: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

Background: Majority of deliveries occurring in the Cameroon part of the Lake Chad basin is assisted by traditional birth attendants (TBA). The aim of the present study was to assess if training and involving TBA in community-based Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) interventions can contribute in improving targeted population access to these interventions.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study that assessed among mothers of children aged 0-24 months the effect of training and involving TBA in PMTCT activities.

Acceptability and Feasibility of Human Papillomavirus Vaccine Introduction in Cameroon: A Mixed-Methods Study.

Introduction: Human papillomaviruses (HPV) are responsible for sexually transmitted infections, and some of these viruses have oncogenic potential. The HPV vaccine is due to be introduced in Cameroon in September 2019. Our study looked at the knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes of the population and healthcare professionals regarding cervical cancer and its vaccine prevention.

Assessing Training Needs of Health Personnel on the Process of Selecting Blood Donors and Transfusion in the West Region of Cameroon.

Introduction: Blood transfusion is a health care procedure that can expose the donor and receiver to risks. The knowledge and practices of healthcare personnel on blood transfusion are necessary to anticipate and/or prevent the occurrence of avoidable transfusion risks. The aim of this study was to assess the training needs of health personnel on blood donor selection procedure.
