Unlabelled: Magnifying narrow-band imaging (NBI) is useful for examination of colorectal lesions, and endocytoscopy (EC) allows diagnostic evaluation of structural atypia, nuclear atypia, and vascular structures of colorectal tumors. The aim of this study was to examine surface microvessels in deep invasive colorectal cancer using EC with a new NBI video processor system. We retrospectively assessed 132 colorectal neoplastic lesions: 81 adenomas, 18 intramucosal cancers, 4 submucosal slightly invasive cancers, and 29 submucosal deep invasive cancers.

Background And Aim: Although endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) enables en bloc removal of large colorectal neoplasms, the incidence of stenosis after ESD and its risk factors have not been well described. This study aimed to determine the risk factors of stenosis and verify the surveillance and treatment of stenosis.

Methods: This retrospective study included 822 patients, with a total of 912 consecutive colorectal lesions, who underwent ESD from September 2003 to May 2015.

Background/aims: To prospectively investigate differences in angiogenesis between low-grade dysplasia (LGD) and hyperplastic polyps, as well as the relationship between microvessel density (MVD) as identified by histological analysis and meshed-capillary (MC) vessels visualized using magnifying narrow band imaging (NBI) colonoscopy.

Methodology: Immunohistochemical analysis of MVD was performed using monoclonal antibody against CD31. The number and thickness of vessels were investigated for 45 LGD and 25 hyperplastic polyps.
