Malignancies of rectum and kidneys are common pathologies in clinical practice; however, the incidence of these malignancies coexisting together is unclear. The main purpose of this article was to show the usefulness of computed tomography (CT) in diagnosing these rare synchronous tumors. We report a case of neuroendocrine carcinoma of the rectum in a 57-year-old male patient who came for staging workup of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) of the left kidney.

The objective behind the association between such common objects and the corresponding pathologies is to make the reader understand and remember the disease process. These signs do not necessarily indicate a particular disease, but are usually suggestive of a group of similar pathologies which will facilitate in the narrowing down of the differential diagnosis.

Arc of Riolan is a collateral channel that connects the proximal superior mesenteric artery (SMA) or its middle colic branch and the proximal inferior mesenteric artery or its left colic branch in case of stenosis of either of the arteries. A 65-year-old diabetic female presented with vague abdominal pain. Ultrasonography showed a large aneurysm within the abdomen in the left lumbar region.
