Highlights from the Respiratory Failure and Mechanical Ventilation Conference 2024.

The Respiratory Intensive Care Assembly of the European Respiratory Society gathered in Berlin to organise the third Respiratory Failure and Mechanical Ventilation Conference in February 2024. The conference covered key points of acute and chronic respiratory failure in adults. During the 3-day conference ventilatory strategies, patient selection, diagnostic approaches, treatment and health-related quality of life topics were addressed by a panel of international experts.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a risk factor for death in patients admitted to intensive care units (ICUs) for respiratory support. Methods: Potential cases of sarcoidosis were identified from two sources, the medical record-linkage system and the pathology database of Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Objective: To identify the factors that affect quality of life in Thai psoriasis patients.

Material And Method: Data collected from 326 psoriasis patients that visited dermatology clinic at Siriraj Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand between 2001 and 2007 was used. Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) was used to measure quality of life.
