Background: Acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) still has a mortality rate of about 10%. Several pre-endoscopy scoring systems have been developed to predict the outcome, but none accurately predict mortality. The present study was aimed at comparing the new ABC score (age, blood tests and comorbidities) with other pre-existing scoring systems to predict mortality.

Background And Study Aims: Secondary prophylaxis with norfloxacin reduces recurrence of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) significantly. No data available from Asia-Pacific region about recurrence of SBP in these patients.
Patients And Methods: In a retrospective cohort study, we assessed recurrence rate of SBP in patients on norfloxacin secondary prophylaxis.
Background: Primary esophageal motility disorders present with a spectrum of symptoms where manometry plays an important role. We designed this study to evaluate the utility of esophageal manometry among various symptoms.
Materials And Methods: This is a single-center observational study conducted over 5 years in a tertiary referral center.
Objectives: Omental infarction (OI) is an uncommon cause of acute abdominal pain. A high index of clinical suspicion is required for diagnosis of OI as the incidence is less than 1 %, presenting with abdominal pain. We report primary OI's clinical and radiological profile from a single tertiary care hospital in India.

Pancreatic ductal or parenchymal calcifications are commonly seen in routine radiological imaging, but calcification of pseudocyst is extremely rare. Calcified pseudocysts have been reported in literature as case reports, but a calcified pseudocyst in the lesser sac, without underlying pancreatic calcification, has not been reported.
