Background: Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is a well-established surgical procedure for the treatment of knee joint diseases. This operation leads to severe acute and chronic pain, and intravenous administration of parecoxib could provide significant pain relief.
Objective: The aim of the study was to compare the hemodynamic data and safety profile of patients who received parecoxib compared to placebo following TKA.
Introduction Increasing the duration of regional anesthesia in orthopedic surgery is of vital importance, as it prolongs postoperative analgesia, allowing faster rehabilitation of patients. Dexamethasone has been found to extend the block duration in animal and human studies. The aim of this study is the assessment of the effect of the addition of dexamethasone to ropivacaine on the onset and duration of axillary brachial plexus block, along with the intensity of postoperative pain.

The aim of this review was to overview the current literature that focuses on QoL in painful PN of various aetiologies. We sought to clarify the direct effect of pain and its treatment on patients' QoL.

FDRA is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that mainly affects the posterior (dorsal) columns of the spinal cord resulting in sensory ataxia. It manifests in initial symptoms of poor coordination and gait disturbance.

Objective: To evaluate the analgesic effect and the impact on quality of life after a single application of the capsaicin 8% cutaneous patch in patients with lumbosacral pain.
Introduction: Intravenous administration of parecoxib could provide significant pain relief in surgical operations that require additional forms of analgesia. However, very little is known about its effects on the anxiety levels of patients before a surgical procedure. The aim of this prospective study was to investigate whether intravenous parecoxib, pre-emptively administered, has an effect on anxiety levels experienced post-surgically after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and if it influences the reported pain of the procedure itself.

Objective: The current investigation aimed to examine the analgesic efficacy and the opioid sparing effects of intravenous parecoxib in combination with continuous femoral blockade.
Study Design: Randomized, double-blind, prospective trial.
Zinc (Zn), a cell-protective metal against various toxic compounds, is the key agent for neutral endopeptidase (NEP) functional structure. NEP is a zinc metalloenzyme which degrades endogenous opioids and is expressed in human keratinocytes (HaCaT). Ropivacaine, a widely used opiate local anaesthetic, exerts cell toxic and apoptotic effects against HaCaT cells.

A total of 120 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly allocated to 3 groups: group I was treated with acupuncture and etoricoxib, group II with sham acupuncture and etoricoxib, and group III with etoricoxib. The primary efficacy variable was the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) index and its subscales at the end of treatment at week 8.
