Clinical Pharmacogenetics of Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers in Iraq.

Background: Clinical pharmacogenetics is a rapidly growing field that focuses on the study of genetic variations and their impact on drug metabolism, efficacy, and safety. Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) are commonly used to treat hypertension in Iraq but not all patients respond equally to these drugs.

Aim: This article aims to review the current evidence on the clinical pharmacogenetics of ARBs in Iraq and its implications for personalized medicine.

Gastroprotective effect of zafirlukast against indomethacin induced gastric ulcer in rats via PGE2 and anti-inflammatory pathways.

Objectives: To evaluate the gastroprotective potential of zafirlukast against indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers in rats.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were included in this study and randomly divided into 4 equal groups (n=8); control (normal) group, indomethacin group, Ranitidine group, and Zafirlukast group. Indomethacin was given as a single oral dose of (20 mg/kg) for the induction of ulcers.
