Comparing the distribution of common human papillomavirus genotypes among the population of Fars province in southwest Iran with the genotypes included in the available HPV vaccines.

Background: Given the strong association between high-risk HPV genotypes, such as HPV 16 and 18, and cervical cancer, this study aimed to compare the distribution of common HPV genotypes in the southwest Iranian population with those included in the available vaccines.

Methods: Based on the sample quality, DNA was extracted from the biological samples of 8036 individuals included in the study using three different methods (automated instrument, column, and precipitation), and a total of 21 different HPV genotypes were detected using real-time PCR.

Results: The majority of participants were women (> 99%), with a positive rate of HPV infection of 29.

Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs), one of the recent subclasses of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), show pivotal functions in regulation of gene expression and have significant roles in malignancies including breast cancer (BC). This study was aimed to assess the hsa_circ_0001445 and hsa_circ_0020397 expression and role in BC, as well as the potential circRNA/miRNA/mRNA crosstalk in these contexts.

Methods: The expression of hsa_circ_0001445 and hsa_circ_0020397 in 50 breast tumors and 50 normal tissues adjacent to the tumors was investigated using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).

Potential roles of hsa_circ_000839 and hsa_circ_0005986 in breast cancer.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is one of the leading causes of death among women around the world. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a newly discovered group of non-coding RNAs that their roles are being investigated in BC and other cancer types. In this study, we evaluated the association of hsa_circ_0005986 and hsa_circ_000839 in tumor and adjacent normal tissues of BC patients with their clinicopathological characteristics.

Optimal Frequency to Screen Celiac Disease amongst Patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus: A Multicenter Study.

Aims: Celiac disease (CD) is frequent amongst patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Since there is a disagreement on the optimal interval and frequency to perform screening tests for CD among diabetic patients, this study aimed to evaluate these issues amongst patients with T1DM.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted in seven referral diabetic centers in different cities of Iran from January 2020 to January 2021.
