Idiopathic bilateral central giant cell reparative granuloma of jaws: a case report and literature review.

Objectives: The central giant-cell reparative granuloma has been defined as a localized benign but sometimes aggressive osteolytic proliferation consisting of fibrous tissue with hemorrhage and hemosiderin deposits, presence of osteoclast-like giant cells and reactive bone formation. It is a benign lesion usually appears as solitary, multilocular, radiolucencies, located in the mandible and maxilla. Multiple CGCRGs of the jaw bones is very rare and, if it occurs, it is usually associated with hyperparathyroidism in majority of the cases .

Reconstruction of congenital and acquired columellar defects: clinical review of 38 patients.

Reconstruction of columella presents certain difficulties and includes reconstruction of the cartilaginous strut and the overlying skin to obtain good results. We conducted a retrospective clinical review of 38 patients presenting with congenital and acquired columellar defects. Anatomic characteristics to be considered were defined and a classification method is proposed to more fully describe columellar defects.

Effects of clopidogrel on survival of rat skin flaps.

Clopidogrel is a thienopyridine derivative that is chemically related to ticlopidine, which irreversibly inhibits platelet aggregation by selectively binding to adenylate cyclase-coupled adenosine diphosphate receptors on the platelet's surface. In animal models, clopidogrel has been shown to reduce the incidence of both arterial and venous thrombi. In the present study the effects of clopidogrel on the survival of rat epigastric island flaps was researched.

Antibiotic use in abdominoplasty: prospective analysis of 207 cases.

The increasing demand for plastic surgery of the abdomen has also increased the number of complications, some of them very difficult to manage. It has been stated that antibiotics are unquestionably effective in preventing postoperative wound infections. In the present study, we aimed to provide guidelines for the use of prophylactic antibiotics in abdominoplasty operations.

Augmentation mammaplasty: retrospective analysis of 210 cases.
