Cysteine-focused chemical proteomic platforms have accelerated the clinical development of covalent inhibitors for a wide range of targets in cancer. However, how different oncogenic contexts influence cysteine targeting remains unknown. To address this question, we have developed "DrugMap," an atlas of cysteine ligandability compiled across 416 cancer cell lines.

Data transmission through solid metallic channels is recommended in certain industries where no other options are proposed, such as nuclear, aerospace, and smart vehicles. In addition to the Faraday shielding effect of electromagnetic waves, another issue related to damage presence due to mechanical loads exists. Severe damage in the transmission channel leads to signal loss at the receiver.

Clinical Relevance: This study evaluates a commercially available conjunctival hyperaemia grading system, providing validation of an important tool for ocular surface research and clinical trials.

Background: Bulbar conjunctival hyperaemia is a sign of ocular surface inflammation, and proper measurement is essential to clinical care and trials. The aim of this study was to assess the validity and repeatability of an objective grading system in comparison with subjective grading.

In this paper, a new approach is proposed for the detection of ultrasonic guided waves using a LiNbO single crystal-based micro-transducer matrix. This matrix was designed, manufactured, and then used to detect Lamb and Pochhammer-Chree guided waves in plate- and cylinder-like structures. This study highlights the identification of the first flexural mode F(1,1) in cylinders at low frequencies.

The development of reliable guided waves inspection systems is conditioned by an accurate knowledge of their dispersive properties. The semi-analytical finite element method has been proven to be very practical for modeling wave propagation in arbitrary cross-section waveguides. However, when it comes to computations on complex geometries to a given accuracy, it still has a major drawback: the high consumption of resources.

Background: Monitoring blood levels of human growth hormone (hGH) in most children with short stature deficiencies is crucial for taking a decision of treatment with extended course of daily and expensive doses of recombinant hGH (rhGH or Somatropin). Besides, misusing of rhGH by sportsmen is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency and thus sensitive GH-detecting methods are highly welcome in this field. Nanobodies are the tiniest antigen-binding entity derived from camel heavy chain antibodies.

A statistical model is proposed to relate the scattering properties of a local heterogeneity in a plate to the statistical properties of scattered and reverberated flexural waves. The contribution of the heterogeneity is isolated through the computation of differential signals consisting of a subtraction of the signals recorded after and before introduction of the heterogeneity. The theoretical expression of the average reverberation envelope of these differential signals is obtained as a function of the scattering cross-section of the heterogeneity.

Passive listening methodology has been shown to be a practical and effective method for passive structural health monitoring. In this work, this approach is applied experimentally to monitor the occurrence of defects in thin aluminum plates. A correlation matrix is estimated from noise vibrations recorded on a transducer array.

This paper describes a procedure to extend the crosstalk correction method presented in a previous paper [A. Bybi, S. Grondel, J.

This paper describes a procedure to minimize crosstalk between the individual elements of a piezoelectric transducer array. A two-dimensional finite elements model was developed and the excitation voltages predicted by the model were applied to the array prototypes made of PZT 27 ceramic. Symmetric and asymmetric linear phased arrays operating at approximately 450 kHz were tested in the feasibility study.

The point source response of a reverberant solid plate is modeled through a nonstationary Poisson process based on the image-source method. The theoretical expectation of the envelope is then derived, taking into account the dispersive nature of plate waves, and validated by numerical results. Least-square curve-fitting applied to an ensemble average over N realizations can then be used to identify useful parameters such as wave velocity, plate surface, or source-receiver distance.

There is growing evidence that among the different conduct disorder (CD) behaviors, physical aggression, but not theft, links to low neurocognitive abilities. Specifically, physical aggression has consistently been found to be negatively related to neurocognitive abilities, whereas theft has been shown to be either positively or not related to neurocognition. The specificity of these links needs further examination because attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) links to both physical aggression and neurocognitive variation.

Background: In Canada, smoking is the leading preventable cause of premature death. Family physicians and nurse practitioners are uniquely positioned to initiate smoking cessation. Because smoking is a chronic addiction, repeated, opportunity-based interventions are most effective in addressing physical dependence and modifying deeply ingrained patterns of beliefs and behaviour.

The work described in this paper is intended to present a simple and efficient way of modeling a full Lamb wave emission and reception system. The emitter behavior and the Lamb wave generation are predicted using a two-dimensional (2D) hybrid finite element-normal mode expansion model. Then the receiver electrical response is obtained from a finite element computation with prescribed displacements.

The aim of this work is to study the fundamental Lamb modes interaction with defects in isotropic plates. For these experimental investigations, symmetrical notches with various depths milled in aluminum plates are considered. Moreover, the incident Lamb wave of a specific mode is generated by means of two identical thin piezoceramic transducers placed at the opposite sides of the plate.

This study examined the association between the heart rate (HR) response to alcohol intoxication, which is thought to reflect sensitivity to alcohol-induced reward and alcohol-induced behavioral disinhibition. High- and low-HR responders to alcohol participated in a go/no-go task, under sober and intoxicated conditions. Errors of commission on this task have previously been related to behavioral disinhibition.

Background: This study examined the elevated heart rate (HR) response to alcohol intoxication, thought to reflect an increased sensitivity to alcohol-induced reward, as a potential factor in the increased likelihood of alcohol-induced aggression.

Methods: Three groups, intoxicated high (n=37) and low (n=37) HR responders and sober controls (n=73), participated in a laboratory measure of physical aggression, the Taylor Aggression Paradigm.

Results: Results revealed that intoxicated high HR responders were more aggressive than the intoxicated low HR responders and sober controls.

Testosterone (T) has been found to have a stimulating effect on aggressive behavior in a wide range of vertebrate species. There is also some evidence of a positive relationship in humans, albeit less consistently. In the present study we investigated the relationship between T and aggression, dominance and delinquency over time, covering a period from early adolescence to adulthood.

Histories of violence and of hyperactivity are both characterized by poor cognitive-neuropsychological function. However, researchers do not know whether these histories combine in additive or interactive ways. The authors tested 303 male young adults from a community sample whose trajectories of teacher-rated physical aggression and motoric hyperactivity from kindergarten to age 15 were well defined.

Background: The psychomotor stimulant theory of addiction posits that sensitivity to the positively rewarding properties of alcohol puts certain individuals at higher risk for alcohol abuse. A valid and reliable index of overactivation in the reward system has been a heightened baseline heart rate (HR) increase on the ascending limb of the blood alcohol curve. The main goal of this study was to investigate the relationship between this HR response and a questionnaire measuring sensitivity to reward and sensitivity to punishment.
