Long-Term Effects of Individual-Focused and Team-Based Training on Health Professionals' Intention to Have Serious Illness Conversations: A Cluster Randomised Trial.

Unlabelled: We aimed to measure the sustainability of health professionals' intention to have serious illness conversations with patients using the Serious Illness Conversation Guide (SICG) after individual-focused training versus team-based training. In a cluster randomised trial, we trained healthcare professionals in 40 primary care clinics and measured their intention to hold serious illness conversations immediately (T1), after 1 year (T2) and after 2 years (T3). Primary care clinics ( = 40) were randomly assigned to individual-focused training (comparator) or team-based training (intervention).

Approach and solutions to congenital hearing impairment in Cameroon: perspective of hearing professionals.

Objectives: To bring out the diagnostic attitude of hearing professionals in Cameroon towards congenital hearing impairment (CHI), assess availability of tests, neonatal screening, and create a national map of availability of treatment opportunities.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional online-based survey from June to December 2021, concerning ear-nose-throat (ENT) specialists, hearing care professionals, speech therapists and ENT nurses. A Google Forms online questionnaire was used to collect data, filled by eligible professionals involved in hearing care in Cameroon.

Shared decision-making and person-centred care approaches in three African regions.

Five years ago, we published a 'wake-up' paper on shared decision-making (SDM) in West Africa. In the current paper, our overview has been expanded to more African regions (central and north, in addition to the west) as well as to person-centred care (PCC) approaches. While these concepts are known in all regions to varying degrees, results indicate that most known SDM and PCC efforts originate from West Africa.

[Aberrant internal carotid artery: a rare cause of cough: about a clinical case].

Aberrant course of the internal carotid artery is a rare congenital malformation. Aberrant course of cervical internal carotid artery accounts for 5% of cases.
