The aim of the present study was to investigate the potential of human plasma derived exosomes for the delivery of hydroxyurea to enhance its therapeutic efficacy in breast cancer. Plasma derived exosomes were isolated using differential centrifugation along with ultrafiltration method. Hydroxyurea was encapsulated in exosomes using a freeze-thaw method.

Advancements of AI in healthcare: a comprehensive review of ChatGPT's applications and challenges.

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare has introduced transformative possibilities and challenges. The current narrative review was planned to explore diverse applications of Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT) across medical domains, ranging from dietary planning and disease management to medical education and clinical decision support. A comprehensive analysis of ChatGPT's healthcare applications was conducted between July and September 2023, reviewing literature from prominent medical journals and databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library and the Cumulated Index in Nursing and Allied Health Literature.

Evaluation of surgical outcomes of nephron-sparing surgery in a leading hospital of an advanced nation.

Objective: To assess the efficacy of renal score grading in guiding therapy decisions, predicting perioperative outcomes, and characterising tumours following partial nephrectomy.

Methods: The retrospective, single-centre study was conducted at the University College Hospital Galway, Ireland, and comprised data from January 11, 2012, to June 17, 2016, of all patients aged >18 years who underwent partial nephrectomy as part of treatment for kidney cancer. Objective To determine the outcomes of cemented modular bipolar hemiarthroplasty for displaced femoral neck fractures in the elderly. Methodology This prospective study involved 102 elderly patients with clinically and radiologically confirmed displaced femoral neck fractures and was conducted in the Department of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery, Unit-1, Services Hospital, Lahore. Cemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty was performed on all patients.

Development and Validation of a Modality-Invariant 3D Swin U-Net Transformer for Liver and Spleen Segmentation on Multi-Site Clinical Bi-parametric MR Images.

To develop and validate a modality-invariant Swin U-Net Transformer (UNETR) deep learning model for liver and spleen segmentation on abdominal T1-weighted (T1w) or T2-weighted (T2w) MR images from multiple institutions for pediatric and adult patients with known or suspected chronic liver diseases. In this IRB-approved retrospective study, clinical abdominal axial T1w and T2w MR images from pediatric and adult patients were retrieved from four study sites, including Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), New York University (NYU), University of Wisconsin (UW) and University of Michigan / Michigan Medicine (UM). The whole liver and spleen were manually delineated as the ground truth masks.

Introduction: Self-medication with antibiotics (SMA)-the use of these drugs without a physician's diagnosis, supervision, or a medical prescription-has emerged as a significant crisis in many societies, being a particular concern in low- and middle-income countries. SMA practices hinder global efforts to reduce antibiotic consumption in the human health sector and to control antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The aims of the study were to explore the motivations, perspectives, and personal experiences of the Malaysian population related to SMA, analyzing their subjective viewpoints, attitudes, and behaviors.

Vanishing bile duct syndrome: a sequela of temozolomide and levetiracetam-induced cholestatic liver injury.

Temozolomide (TMZ)-levetiracetam (LEV) combination therapy in glioblastoma management is gradually becoming a mainstay treatment given its superior effect compared with TMZ monotherapy. While there have been previous cases of hepatotoxicity, there are no prior reports of vanishing bile duct syndrome (VBDS) associated with TMZ-LEV combination use. This case report details a male in his 50s who had recently completed TMZ and LEV for right frontal lobe glioblastoma.

CT/MRI LI-RADS 2024 Update: Treatment Response Assessment.

With the rising incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma, there has been increasing use of local-regional therapy (LRT) to downstage or bridge to transplant, for definitive treatment, and for palliation. The CT/MRI Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) Treatment Response Assessment (TRA) algorithm provides guidance for step-by-step tumor assessment after LRT and standardized reporting. Current evidence suggests that the algorithm performs well in the assessment of tumor response to arterial embolic and loco-ablative therapies and fair when assessing response to radiation-based therapies, with limited data to validate the latter.

Background: Acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a critical cardiovascular condition requiring timely intervention to restore coronary blood flow and minimize myocardial damage. Study of fractional order rabies transmission model via Atangana-Baleanu derivative.

In this work, we aim at disentangling the theoretical contribution through mathematical modeling approach to advance the understanding of rabies dynamics and control in livestock population. A fractional order model of rabies, using Atangana-Baleanu fractional operator is created. The analysis of suggested system and its application are both conducted.

LI-RADS radiation-based treatment response algorithm for HCC: what to know and how to use it.

Locoregional treatments (LRT) continue to advance for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) or transarterial radioembolization (TARE) with radioactive Yttrium (Y90) microspheres is currently widely accepted, and external beam and stereotactic body radiation (EBRT/SBRT) are increasingly used as LRT. Assessment of treatment response after these radiation-based therapies can be challenging, given that the adjacent liver also undergoes treatment related changes, inflammatory changes occur, and there is a variable time for response to develop.

Two-way photoswitching norbornadiene derivatives for solar energy storage.

Molecular photoswitches of norbornadiene (NBD) derivatives have been effectively applied in molecular solar-thermal energy storage (MOST) by photoisomerization of NBD to a quadricyclane (QC) state. However, a challenge of the NBD-based MOST system is the lack of a reversible two-way photoswitching process, limiting conversion from QC to thermal and catalytic methods. Here we design a series of NBD derivatives with a combination of acceptor and donor units to achieve two-way photoswitching, which can optically release energy by back-conversion from QC to NBD.

Paediatric Early Warning Score to Detect Deterioration in Paediatric Patients at a Tertiary Care Hospital of a Developing Country: A Validation Study.
