Methods: The retrospective, single-centre study was conducted at the University College Hospital Galway, Ireland, and comprised data from January 11, 2012, to June 17, 2016, of all patients aged >18 years who underwent partial nephrectomy as part of treatment for kidney cancer. Data was analysed using SPSS 20.
Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder that commonly manifests in chronic, accelerated, or blast phase. Typically observed in individuals aged 60-65 years, CML is infrequently diagnosed in adolescents. The usual presentation in late adulthood involves nonspecific symptoms such as fever, fatigue, and weight loss, with rare reports of initial neurological involvement.

Purpose: To develop and validate deep learning (DL) models for predicting MRE-derived liver stiffness using routine clinical non-contrast abdominal T1-weighted (T1w) and T2-weighted (T2w) data from multiple institutions/system manufacturers in pediatric and adult patients.
Background: Genetic factors play a role in asthma severity. However, low- and middle-income countries have minimal contribution to genomic asthma research. The current study investigates the influence of an important genetic asthma region (6p21) on severe asthma in a cohort of asthmatics in Pakistan.

Amino acids such as histidine, cysteine, and methionine are known to coordinate with metal ions in proteins and enzymes, playing critical roles in their structure and function. In metalloproteins, metal ions are often coordinated by specific amino acid residues, contributing to the protein's stability and catalytic activity.

Methodology This prospective study involved 102 elderly patients with clinically and radiologically confirmed displaced femoral neck fractures and was conducted in the Department of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery, Unit-1, Services Hospital, Lahore. Cemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty was performed on all patients.

In this IRB-approved retrospective study, clinical abdominal axial T1w and T2w MR images from pediatric and adult patients were retrieved from four study sites, including Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), New York University (NYU), University of Wisconsin (UW) and University of Michigan / Michigan Medicine (UM). The whole liver and spleen were manually delineated as the ground truth masks.

The severity can be reduced if diagnosis and intervention are early (age < 2 years). This work presents a novel ear-worn wearable EEG system designed to aid in the early detection of ASD.

Background: SARS-CoV-2 asymptomatic surveillance testing (AST) is a common strategy to minimize the risk of nosocomial infection in patients and healthcare personnel. In contrast to admission screening, post-admission AST was less widely adopted.
Objective: This study describes the diagnostic yield of post-admission serial SARS-COV-2 testing in hospitalized patients at a large cancer center with mostly double-occupancy rooms.
Introduction: Self-medication with antibiotics (SMA)-the use of these drugs without a physician's diagnosis, supervision, or a medical prescription-has emerged as a significant crisis in many societies, being a particular concern in low- and middle-income countries. SMA practices hinder global efforts to reduce antibiotic consumption in the human health sector and to control antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The aims of the study were to explore the motivations, perspectives, and personal experiences of the Malaysian population related to SMA, analyzing their subjective viewpoints, attitudes, and behaviors.

While there have been previous cases of hepatotoxicity, there are no prior reports of vanishing bile duct syndrome (VBDS) associated with TMZ-LEV combination use. This case report details a male in his 50s who had recently completed TMZ and LEV for right frontal lobe glioblastoma.

The CT/MRI Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) Treatment Response Assessment (TRA) algorithm provides guidance for step-by-step tumor assessment after LRT and standardized reporting. Current evidence suggests that the algorithm performs well in the assessment of tumor response to arterial embolic and loco-ablative therapies and fair when assessing response to radiation-based therapies, with limited data to validate the latter.

In this pandemic, health professionals have been among the most vulnerable groups to contracting the virus or spreading it to others; therefore, their appropriate response in line with health and safety is crucial and needs to be addressed.
Objective: This study evaluated health professionals' behaviors and attitudes toward COVID-19.
The hybrid material created by combining cellulose and MOF is highly promising and possesses a wide range of useful properties. Cellulose-based metal-organic frameworks (CelloMOFs) combine the inherent biocompatibility and sustainability of cellulose with the tunable porosity and diverse metal coordination chemistry of MOFs. Cellulose-MOF hybrids have countless applications in various fields, such as energy storage, water treatment, air filtration, gas adsorption, catalysis, and biomedicine.

While percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remains the gold standard, it is often insufficient for patients with complex coronary anatomy, such as multivessel disease or left main coronary artery involvement. Hybrid coronary revascularization (HCR), which combines PCI and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), offers a novel approach to managing these complex cases.

Locoregional treatments (LRT) continue to advance for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) or transarterial radioembolization (TARE) with radioactive Yttrium (Y90) microspheres is currently widely accepted, and external beam and stereotactic body radiation (EBRT/SBRT) are increasingly used as LRT. Assessment of treatment response after these radiation-based therapies can be challenging, given that the adjacent liver also undergoes treatment related changes, inflammatory changes occur, and there is a variable time for response to develop.

However, a challenge of the NBD-based MOST system is the lack of a reversible two-way photoswitching process, limiting conversion from QC to thermal and catalytic methods. Here we design a series of NBD derivatives with a combination of acceptor and donor units to achieve two-way photoswitching, which can optically release energy by back-conversion from QC to NBD.
