Purpose: This study aimed to assess postoperative pain, depression, and anxiety levels in infertile men who underwent microsurgical testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE) for non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) and compare results between patients with successful and unsuccessful sperm retrieval.

Material And Methods: A total of 105 NOA patients participated, completing preoperative Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and Situational and Transient Anxiety Inventory (SAI and TAI) questionnaires. Postoperatively, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores were recorded.

Introduction Colorectal carcinoma (CRC) continues to be a major global health concern, contributing substantially to cancer incidence and mortality. Colonic adenocarcinoma, a common subtype of CRC, is influenced by various prognostic factors, including tumor stage, histopathological characteristics, and tumor markers. Despite their routine use in clinical settings, the prognostic value of traditional tumor markers, such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9), and others, is still under debate.

Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Diabetic Foot Patients: A Shift in the Infectious Agent Profile Toward Nonfermentative Gram-Negative Bacilli.

Background: Diabetes foot infection is a very important public health problem that causes serious health problems, mortality, and high health expenditures, and is one of the most important complications of diabetes mellitus. There are concerns that approaches such as limited personal visits to doctors, avoidance of hospitals, and restrictions on nonemergency surgical procedures during the coronavirus disease of 2019 pandemic pose a threat to those with diabetic foot problems, including diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), ischemia, and infection, resulting in increased limb loss and mortality.

Methods: This multicenter, retrospective, cross-sectional study was conducted in 14 tertiary care hospitals from various regions of Turkey.

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia with Combined 21-hydroxylase deficiency and 17α-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase deficiency: An undervirilized male.

21-hydroxylase deficiency stands as the most prevalent form of congenital adrenal hyperplasia, primarily resulting from mutations in the CYP21A2 gene. On the other hand, mutations within the CYP17A1 gene lead to 17α-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase enzyme deficiencies. The scarcity of 17-OH deficiency is noteworthy, accounting for less than 1% of all congenital adrenal hyperplasia cases.

Effect of Printing Layer Thickness on Optical Properties and Surface Roughness of 3D-Printed Resins: An In Vitro Study.

Purpose: To investigate the impact of printing layer thickness on the optical properties and surface roughness of various 3D-printed resins manufactured by digital light processing (DLP) and indicated for provisional and definitive restorations.

Materials And Methods: A total of 240 specimens from four different 3D-printing resins-VarseoSmile Crown Plus (Bego; VS), Crowntec (Saremco Dental; CR), GC Temp PRINT (GC Dental; TG), and NextDent C&B MFH (NextDent; ND)-were divided into four groups (n = 60 per group). Each group was further divided into three subgroups (n = 20) according to printing layer thickness (25, 50, and 100 μm).

Anterior tibial artery pseudoaneurysm secondary to articulating spacer use for infected knee arthroplasty: A case report.

Introduction: Neurovascular compromise following primary or revision total knee arthroplasty is a rare but severe complication. To the best of our knowledge, there have been reports of pseudoaneurysm of the popliteal artery following primary and revision; however, an anterior tibial artery pseudoaneurysm with articulating spacer has not been described yet.

Case Presentation: We introduce a rare case of anterior tibial artery pseudoaneurysm and concomitant foot drop caused by an articulating spacer in a two-stage revision for infected knee replacement.

The role of scoliosis on temporomandibular joint disease: a cross-sectional study based on ultrasonography.

Aim: To investigate the relationship between temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and the stomatognathic system and spine through a multidisciplinary approach, utilising ultrasound to assess the temporomandibular joint.

Materials And Methods: Between October 2020 and January 2021, 50 patients aged 12-18 years with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and 50 healthy individuals were enrolled. All participants underwent clinical examinations based on the Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (DC/TMD) protocol.

True acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) injuries are rare in children and adolescents due to the strength of ligaments in this age group. However, a standardized management guideline for these injuries is currently lacking in the literature. This systematic review aims to provide an organized overview of associated injuries and propose a management algorithm for pediatric ACJ injuries.

Arthroscopic superior capsular reconstruction versus reverse shoulder arthroplasty in patients with massive irreparable rotator cuff tears: A comparative clinical study.

Background: Diabetic retinopathy is one of the most important causes of low vision in the working age group. Retinopathy findings start earlier and have a worse prognosis in type 1 DM. The aim of the this study was to compare the choroidal thickness (CT) and choroidal vascular index (CVI) values of type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients without retinopathy findings in pediatric patients and healthy children.

Intra- and inter-observer reliability of Dias-Tachdjian classification in pediatric ankle fractures: do clinical experience and expertise matter?

The Dias-Tachdjian classification is the most commonly used system for the classification of pediatric ankle fractures, but its inter- and intra-observer reliability has not been studied in detail. Also, the impact of the clinician's experience and expertise on the reliability of this system is unknown. This study aimed: (1) to determine the intra- and inter-observer reliability of the Dias-Tachdjian classification and (2) to investigate the effect of the clinician's experience and expertise on the reliability of this system.

Identifying the effects of excess weight, metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance on liver stiffness using ultrasound elastography in children.

Background: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) and insulin resistance (IR) are known predictors of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) which is one of the significant comorbidities of obesity. Obese children with MetS and IR are reported to be more likely to have advanced liver fibrosis compared to those without MetS or IR. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of excess weight, MetS and IR on liver fibrosis assessing liver stiffness in children using ultrasound elastography and compare gray scale ultrasonographic findings of hepatic steatosis (HS) with liver fibrosis.

Comparison of the Efficiency of Epidermal Growth Factor and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy in Diabetic Foot Patients.

Advanced modalities are used for wounds where conventional treatment is insufficient in diabetic foot patients. In this study, we investigated the effects of using Epidermal growth factor (EGF) and NPWTmodalities alone or in combination on the frequency and level of amputation. In the retrospective study, which included 286 patients in total, 76 patients were referred with the decision of amputation or amputation was planned during hospitalization.

Comparison of High Hip Center versus Anatomical Reconstruction Technique in Crowe Types II and III Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip: a Retrospective Clinical Study.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The literature is conflicting as to whether the high hip center (HHC) reconstruction in total hip arthroplasty (THA) is an ideal option for patients with severe developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). This study aimed to compare the mid-term functional and radiographic outcomes of THA using HHC versus anatomical hip center (AHC) technique in Crowe types II and III DDH. Our hypothesis was that there may be no differences in terms of functional and radiographic outcomes between patients who underwent THA using HHC or AHC.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether isokinetic strength decrease significantly after using volar plating for distal radius fractures and evaluate the pronator quadratus muscle regarding atrophy.

Methods: This study took place between 2011 and 2015 and included 18 distal radius fracture patients (group 1) who were treated via volar plating at least one year prior and 14 healthy controls (group 2). All participants were tested isokinetically.

Effects of Obesity on the Auditory Function of Children and Adolescents.

 Childhood and adolescent obesity is associated with insulin resistance, abnormal glucose metabolism, hypertension, dyslipidemia, inflammation, liver disease, and compromised vascular function.  We aimed to evaluate the effects of obesity on the auditory function and speech audiometry of children and adolescents.  Subjects with a body mass index (BMI) higher than +2 standard deviation (SD) were classified as obese, and subjects with normal BMI SD were classified as the control group.

Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the management of diabetic foot ulcers: experiences from a dedicated diabetic foot care center.

Introduction: As did many other nations, the Turkish government implemented precautions and lockdown measures in response to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 viral infection. The pandemic has caused millions of deaths globally, resulted in the development of comorbidities, and negatively affected national health care systems. The increased workload at hospitals and spread of the virus among health care professionals have resulted in delays in health care services delivery.

Reasons for resident resignations from Orthopedic Residency Programs in Turkey: A cross-sectional survey from residents' perspectives.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyse the factors that led to resignations from Orthopaedics and Traumatology Residency pro- grammes in Turkey, and to determine the overall rate of resignation among residents from Orthopaedics and Traumatology programmes.

Methods: In this cross-sectional survey,120 residents who either resigned or transferred to other OT clinics between autumn of 2013 and spring of 2020 were included. They were asked to complete a questionnare which was sent via Whatssapp application or e-mail.

Introduction: Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is a rare non-IgE, cell-mediated food allergy disorder. We aimed to report the demographic characteristics, clinical features, and management of pediatric patients with FPIES.

Methods: This retrospective study included all children diagnosed with FPIES at the pediatric allergy departments of the participating twelve study centers from January 2015 to November 2020.

Applying a Silver-containing Dressing to the Incision Site and Its Effect on the Development of Surgical Site Infection After Ostomy Closure: A Prospective Randomized Clinical Pilot Study.
