Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) belong to a family of natural polyesters and are produced under unbalanced growth conditions as intracellular carbon and energy reserves by a wide variety of microorganisms. Being biodegradable, biocompatible and environmental friendly thermoplastics, the PHAs are considered as future polymers to replace petrochemicals based plastics. In this review, the introduction section deals with the brief discussion on PHA nature, availability, raw materials for production, processing etc.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcryloyl based novel energetic monomers having nitro acrylates and nitro triazole acrylates were synthesized and further used for polymerization. Due to scavanging properties of nitro groups, syntheses of nitro aromatic polymers are not facile at normal conditions. In this regard, we report a simple protocol to synthesize these energetic group embeded acroloyl polymers.

Molecular imprinting has already proven to be one of the most promising artificial receptors that can lead to specific recognition at molecular level. In this work, molecular imprinting polymers (MIPs) were prepared from acrylamide (ACM) as functional monomer and m-nitrophenol as template respectively. Bis-acrylamide was used as cross-linker.
