We present the case of a 32-year-old African American female with a known history of primary Sjogren's syndrome, multiple vitamin deficiencies, and prior facial cellulitis who presented with diffuse facial post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation following a motor vehicle accident. Following glucocorticoid treatment, only select hyperpigmented areas associated with inflammation, infection, or trauma improved, which thereby posed a clinical challenge to improve the patient's appearance and condition. Such results may warrant the consideration of adjunctive topical therapies to lighten the remaining areas of hyperpigmentation.

Introduction: Physical exercise deters the risk and reduce the adjusted Odds Ratio related to obesity and cardiometabolic diseases but the amount of physical exercise required for initiating those potential advantageous developments in the human body for normal obese individuals is still debatable and thus made many face the health burden during pandemic, despite of their claiming to be physically active.

Objective: The primary aim of this review was to find an ideal duration and form of exercise that could help reduce the risk of cardiometabolic diseases and its complications for subjects with obesity and deranged cardiometabolic risk markers.

Method: Electronic database PubMed/MedLine, Scopus and PEDro for available literature on Experimental studies and RCT on exercise prescription and its effect on anthropometric measurements as well as key biomarkers in obese individuals, 451 records were procured, 47 full text articles were identified to assess eligibility criteria out of which 19 were finally included in the review.

The most common cause of corneal graft failure is corneal graft rejection (CGR). Although cornea is one of the immune-privileged sites, it can still get a rejection episode due to a breach in its natural protective mechanism. Both anatomical and structural properties of cornea and anterior chamber contribute toward its immune tolerance.

Introduction: Despite frequent recognition of emotional blunting in the published literature, either as a primary symptom of depression or as an adverse effect of antidepressants, there is no systematic synthesis on this topic to our knowledge. We undertook this scoping review to assess the prevalence, clinical features, implicated causes and management of emotional blunting, outlining the phenomenological and clinical gaps in research.

Method: A systematic search was done until March 15, 2022, to include all original studies (i.

This research article investigates the behavior of elastic waves in an inhomogeneous isotropic three-layered sandwich plate with soft-core and stiff-skin layers embedded in Winkler foundations, using anti-plane shear motion. The study establishes the exact antisymmetric dispersion relation, low-frequency spectrum, and overall cut-off frequency of the wave propagation. A shortened polynomial dispersion relation is developed for the long-wave low-frequency regime by considering the contrasting material setup and compared with the exact dispersion relation.

Enantiomers have the same physical properties but different chemical properties due to the difference in the orientation of groups in space and thus Chiral discrimination is quite necessary, as an enantiomer of drug can have lethal effects. In this study, we used the CC2 cage for chiral discrimination of amino acids using density functional theory. The results indicated the physisorption of amino acids in the central cavity of the cage.

This research explores a novel two-terminal heterostructure of the Pt/CuSe/SbSe/FTO memristor, which exhibited essential biological synaptic functions. These synaptic functions play a critical role in emulating biological neural systems and overcoming the limitations of traditional computing architectures. By repeating a fixed pulse train, in this study, we realized a few crucial neural functions toward weight modulation, such as nonlinear conductance changes and potentiation/depression characteristics, which aid the transition of short-term memory to long-term memory.

Introduction Ovarian tumors remain one of the leading malignancies of the female genital tract, with a high mortality rate due to their insidious onset and lack of detection at an earlier stage. These tumors metastasize by direct extension into the neighboring pelvic organs; hence, the detection of peritoneal metastasis is valuable for staging and prognostic purposes. Peritoneal wash cytological analysis is an effective predictor of the involvement of the ovarian surface and peritoneal dissemination even in subclinical involvement of the peritoneum.

Background: Complex diseases such as neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) exhibit multiple etiologies. The multi-etiological nature of complex-diseases emerges from distinct but functionally similar group of genes. Different diseases sharing genes of such groups show related clinical outcomes that further restrict our understanding of disease mechanisms, thus, limiting the applications of personalized medicine approaches to complex genetic disorders.
