Aczel Alsina t-norm and t-conorm-based aggregation operators under linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy setting with application.

This article uses the Aczel-Alsina t-norm and t-conorm to make several new linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators. First, we devised some rules for how linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers should work. Then, using these rules as a guide, we created a set of operators, such as linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Aczel-Alsina weighted averaging (LIVIFAAWA) operator, linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Aczel-Alsina weighted geometric (LIVIFAAWG) operator, linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Aczel-Alsina ordered weighted averaging (LIVIFAAOWA) operator, linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Aczel-Alsina ordered weighted geometric (LIVIFAAOWG) operator, linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Aczel-Alsina hybrid weighted averaging (LIVIFAAHWA) operator and linguistic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Aczel-Alsina hybrid weighted geometric (LIVIFAAHWG) operators are created.

Unusual presentation of metastatic pancreatic carcinoma.

Pancreatic carcinoma is one of the most common and deadly cancers in the world. It typically presents with abdominal pain, vomiting and weight loss. Here, we report a case who presented with respiratory symptoms of cough, fever and decreased oral intake without any typical abdominal sign and symptoms.

Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy; success and outcome of a novel modality for enteral nutrition.

Objective: To determine the indications and complications of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube.

Methods: The retrospective audit study was conducted at the Department of Gastroenterology, Endoscopy Unit, Patel Hospital, Karachi, and comprised data of patients aged 4-95 years who underwent placement of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy under conscious sedation and for patients under 18 years of age having obtained anaesthesia fitness, under general anaesthesia, from August, 2008, to July, 2018. Pre-procedure treatment and follow-up was noted on a structured proforma.

Ocular Cicatricial Pemphigoid: Camouflaged as Persistent Conjunctivitis.

Ocular cicatricial pemphigoid (OCP) is a rare autoimmune disease with heterogenous clinical manifestations. The classical lesion involves ocular conjunctiva that leads to progressive scarring and fibrosis which ultimately results in visual loss. We report a case of a young male, who had chronic conjunctivitis which remained un-responsive to conventional treatment and results in significant morbidity.

We report a case of young female, diagnosed case of Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), who had been overlooked for her raised platelet counts. Later her symptoms of impending digital gangrene led to an active search for her thrombocytosis.

Clinical outcomes of prophylactic platelet transfusion in patients with dengue: A retrospective study of patients at a tertiary care hospital in Karachi.

Objective: To determine the benefit of prophylactic platelet transfusion on clinical outcomes in patients with dengue fever.

Methods: The retrospective cohort study was conducted at Patel Hospital, Karachi, and comprised record of patients fulfilling World Health Organisation's diagnostic criteria for dengue between 2009 and 2015. We excluded patients with known auto-immune thrombocytopenia, isolated infection with a pathogen other than dengue virus, drug-induced thrombocytopenia and patients requiring therapeutic transfusion.

Mammals adapt to a rapidly changing world because of the sophisticated perceptual and cognitive function enabled by the neocortex. The neocortex, which has expanded to constitute nearly 80% of the human brain seems to have arisen from repeated duplication of a stereotypical template of neurons and synaptic circuits with subtle specializations in different brain regions and species. Determining the design and function of this microcircuitry is therefore of paramount importance to understanding normal and abnormal higher brain function.
