Hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) is a popular treatment modality for the treatment of colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM). The aim of this study was to determine the feasibility of HAIC for high-risk resected CRLM delivered using repeated femoral puncture and delivering 5-fluorouracil infusional chemotherapy along with systemic adjuvant chemotherapy. The present study is a retrospective review of a prospectively maintained database.

A minimally invasive approach in synchronous resection in the selected group of patients may improve postoperative outcomes. The present study aimed to explore the safety and feasibility of simultaneous liver and colorectal resection for synchronous metastasis by a minimally invasive approach in terms of major morbidity and R0 resection rates.

However, there is scarce data on feasibility and safety in resource limited setting. The objective was to assess compliance with ERP and its impact on postoperative outcomes and return to intended oncological treatment (RIOT).

Patients And Methods: Consecutive 92 patients having mrEMVI at presentation treated between January 2016 and December 2018 were matched with 92 patients (1:1) without mrEMVI.
Aim: Ovarian transposition is an established surgical technique to salvage ovaries in premenopausal women requiring pelvic radiation. The success rate of ovarian transposition varies widely depending on the route, technique of surgery, type of cancer and treatment. Here, we aimed to analyse the effectiveness of laparoscopic ovarian transposition (LOT) in teenage and young women prior to pelvic radiation in locally advanced rectal cancers (LARC).

We compared the outcomes of patients with BRPC treated either with upfront surgery (UPS) or NAT to assess whether increased use of NAT has helped improve perioperative and long-term outcomes.
Methods: Prospectively maintained database of 201 consecutive patients with BRPC treated at Tata Memorial Center, India, from 2007-2019 was analyzed.
Background: Short-course radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy has not been widely evaluated as an alternative to traditional long-course chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer.
Objective: This study compared the oncological and short-term outcomes between short-course radiotherapy + chemotherapy and long-course chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer.
Design: This is a retrospective propensity-matched study.
Background And Objectives: There are reports of outcomes of elective major cancer surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic. We evaluated if reinforcement of hand hygiene, universal masking, and distancing as a part of pandemic precautions led to a decrease in the incidence of surgical site infections (SSIs) in major oncologic resections.
Methods: Propensity score matching using the nearest neighbor algorithm was performed on 3123 patients over seven covariates (age, comorbidities, surgery duration, prior treatment, disease stage, reconstruction, and surgical wound type) yielding 2614 matched (pre-COVID 1612 and COVID 1002) patients.
Aim: In selected patients with advanced rectal cancers involving the prostate or seminal vesicles, the bladder can be preserved to avoid the complications associated with an ileal conduit. The study was aimed at reviewing the technique and short-term outcomes of patients that underwent bladder sparing robotic pelvic exenteration with suprapubic cystostomy (SPC).
Methods: Case series of bladder preserving exenteration from a single tertiary care center.
Aim: The aim was to compare oncological and short-term outcomes between open and laparoscopic surgery in locally advanced rectal cancers.
Methods: It is a retrospective analysis conducted in a high volume tertiary centre. Matching was carried out for nine variables, including preoperative factors, neoadjuvant treatment and sphincter preservation.
Introduction: A subcentimeter distal resection margin (DRM) appears to be acceptable for most patients, however, long-term follow up and specific subsets where DRM would influence recurrences have not been adequately investigated.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of all sphincter-preserving resections for mid and low rectal cancers between July 2011 and May 2015 was performed. Extended total mesorectal excisions (TME) and patients with positive pathologic circumferential margins (CRM) were excluded.

Only a handful of institutions in the country have an established robotic surgery program. Evolution of robotic surgery in the colorectal division, from inception to recent times, is presented here. All the patients undergoing robotic colorectal surgery from the inception of the program (September 2014) to August 2019 were identified.

This meant cutting down resources and manpower away of various healthcare facilities and severely hampering the functioning of various cancer services across the world. It is however, important to understand, cancer itself is a life-threatening condition, and there is a need to continue running cancer care services, at least for those who needed the most.

While we change our surgical practice, cancer care will take a toll on unprecedented long-term outcomes. We elucidate our experience that has unfolded during this period.

Methods: It's a retrospective study of 161 patients undergoing surgery after neoadjuvant chemoradiation (NCRT) for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC).
Laparoscopic posterior exenteration (total and supralevator) is a complex and rarely done procedure. In this study we describe the surgical technique and short-term perioperative outcomes in 7 female patients of locally advanced carcinoma rectum operated with laparoscopic pelvic exenteration. We report 7 cases of carcinoma rectum involving either posterior wall of the uterus or vagina, which were operated with a laparoscopic procedure.
