Thigh Abscess as an Uncommon Complication of Left-Sided Colonic Diverticulitis and the Pitfalls in Treatment: An Interesting Case Report.

Colonic diverticulitis is one of the common causes of surgical intervention in general surgical practice. In most cases, surgical intervention depends on the presence of a collection around the sigmoid colon, the feasibility of percutaneous drainage, and the patient's medical condition. The collection can occur in the thigh in rare cases due to a fistulous communication with the retroperitoneum and can track gravitationally along the psoas muscle into the thigh and leg without any discernible collection around the sigmoid colon or in the abdominal cavity.

Human epididymis: structural pattern, total length and inner surface area.

Introduction: The organ epididymis is secured the name considering it functioned as an appendix to the testis; earlier testis was called as didymi. Regarding the length of human epididymis, several values are attributed by different authors. The present study was aimed to find out the pattern, total length and inner surface area of human epididymis.

Immunomodulating and antiproteinuric effect of Hippophae rhamnoides (Badriphal) in idiopathic nephrotic syndrome.

Objective: The treatment of idiopathic nephrotic syndrome is still not well settled and at times is very frustrating. Number of protocols have been reported with variable results outcome in various conditions. The main pillar of treatment of idiopathic nephrotic syndrome is use of immunomodulating and suppressive drugs in various combinations.

Interstitial nephritis with moderate-to-heavy proteinuria: an unusual combination.

Interstitial nephritis with proteinuria >1 g/day is uncommon and almost always the result of drug-induced ATIN with an associated minimal change glomerulonephritis (GN). Here, we present a series of five unusual cases of interstitial nephritis without GN but with proteinuria >1 g/day, and they were identified from renal biopsies done from February 2008 to March 2009. Out of 236 patients who underwent renal biopsy, only five met the inclusion criteria.
