The prolonged use of exogenous glucocorticoids, such as dexamethasone (Dex), is the most prevalent secondary cause of osteoporosis, known as glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIO). The current study examined the preventative and synergistic effect of aqueous chicory extract (ACE) and ethanolic purslane extract (EPE) on GIO compared with Alendronate (ALN). The phytochemical contents, elemental analysis, antioxidant scavenging activity, and ACE and EPE combination index were evaluated.

Aims: In the current study, FCX, an arylidene derivative, was screened for anticolon and prostate cancer activity.
Settings And Design: Prostate and colon cancer cell lines were used to check the FCX effect on proliferation, apoptosis, and mechanism of drug action.
Lead (Pb) is a toxic ubiquitous environmental pollutant that induces hepatotoxicity in both animals and humans. The ability of Nigella saliva seeds (NSS) in ameliorating lead acetate (PbAc)-induced hepatic oxidative damage was investigated using a rabbit model. Forty New Zealand rabbits were given feed and water ad libitum.

Arylidene indan-ones constitute a new class of potential anti-tumor compounds. Herein, we report the biological efficacy of the 2-arylidene-4, 7-dimethyl indan-1-one (FXY-1), a potential lead molecule of arylidene indan-ones in lung cancer models.
