The current study investigated post-operative tear protein profiles in subjects who underwent LASIK and SMILE to elucidate global changes to the proteomic profile during the period the patient cornea undergoes healing. In this study, 10 patients underwent LASIK and SMILE surgery with a contralateral paired eye design.

Understanding the intricate mechanisms underlying the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome by these adjuvants is crucial for deciphering their immunomodulatory properties. This review explores the involvement of the NLRP3 inflammasome in mediating immune responses triggered by nanoparticle adjuvants.

Mammary fat pads were five pairs (first cervical, second and third thoracic, fourth abdominal and fifth inguinal), bilaterally symmetrical, extending laterally and continuously with the subcutaneous fascia. The superficial cervical artery and vein primarily accomplished the blood vasculature of the first mammary fat pad, while the lateral thoracic and external thoracic arteries and veins supplied the second and third mammary fat pads.

Therefore, we have investigated the ocular surface immune cell profile and correlated it with secreted tear molecular factors and clinical ocular sequelae in SJS patients.
Methods: 21 patients (42 eyes) with chronic ocular SJS and 16 healthy controls (20 eyes) were included in the study.
Vitamin D gene polymorphisms are known to be associated with asthma and allergic rhinitis in children. However, the genetic association of the same in South Indian children with above condition is still unknown. The present study was designed with the objective to analyze the association of polymorphisms of vitamin D receptor gene (VDR) (rs797532, rs154410, rs2258470, rs731236) and transport gene of vitamin D (rs7041) in children with asthma and allergic rhinitis in South India.

In this category of fake online information, real multimedia contents (images, videos) are used in different but related contexts with manipulated texts to mislead the readers. The presence of seemingly non-manipulated multimedia content reinforces the belief in the associated fabricated textual content.

Aims: To identify multivoiced perspectives, drawn from lived experience of: what works, and what does not, in palliative care for people with intellectual disability or serious mental illness; challenges in, and opportunities to improve, palliative care.
Design: A systematically constructed qualitative meta-ethnography.
Purpose: To compare post-operative pain perception using bandage contact lens (BCL) stored at 2-8°C (Cold BCL, CL-BCL) or room temperature (23 - 25°C, RT-BCL) after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) or corneal collagen-crosslinking (CXL) and determine status of nociception associated factors.
Methods: In this prospective interventional study, 56 patients undergoing PRK for refractive correction and 100 keratoconus (KC) undergoing CXL were recruited following approval from the institutional ethics committee with informed consent. Patients undergoing bilateral PRK received RT-BCL on one eye and CL-BCL on the other.
Dry eye disease (DED) which affects millions of people worldwide is an ocular surface disease that is strongly associated with pain, discomfort, and visual disturbances. Altered tear film dynamics, hyperosmolarity, ocular surface inflammation, and neurosensory abnormalities are the key contributors to DED pathogenesis. The presence of discordance between signs and symptoms of DED in patients and refractoriness to current therapies in some patients underpin the need for studying additional contributors that can be modulated.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted ECE enrollment and participation; until June 2022, preschool children in the US were ineligible for COVID-19 vaccines. It is critical to identify perceptions of teachers/directors and parents to enhance safe return-to-school efforts.

Materials And Methods: Between June 2017 and December 2019, 23 patients of histologically proven locally advanced nonsmall cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) received definitive chemoradiation. Serial kV-CBCT images X-ray volume imaging (XVI) were generated weekly for image guidance and were used to generate serial GTVp.
The drug resistance is higher among Gram-negative bacteria and demands the usage of strong antibiotics which can in turn result in systemic toxicity. In the treatment of the chronic wounds harboring pathogenic Gram-negative bacteria, the demand for an antimicrobial product that can be topically administered has been on the rise. In an effort to address the above issue, we have developed Colistimethate sodium (a high-end antibiotic) loaded chitosan hydrogel and characterized.

Healthcare workers (HCWs) are at the highest risk of exposure to COVID-19 and, therefore, they are the priority group for vaccination. Objectives The study aimed to examine the perceptions, attitudes, and acceptability of the COVID-19 vaccination among HCWs in India.

Like spores synthesized by many Gram-positive species, dormant cysts germinate in response to an environmental signal, indicating that conditions favor survival and proliferation. Factors that induce germination are called germinants and are often both niche and species specific.

Objective: To investigate the association of Vitamin D associated gene polymorphisms and asthma in children (0-18 years) by systematic review and meta-analytic approach.
Many bacterial species are capable of forming long-lived dormant cells. The best characterized are heat and desiccation resistant spores produced by many Gram-positive species. Less characterized are dormant cysts produced by several Gram-negative species that are somewhat tolerant to increased temperature and very resistant to desiccation.

One hundred and fifteen cases [Down Syndrome (DS) n = 75, Multiple Congenital Anomalies (MCA) n = 15 and Aplastic Anaemia (AA) n = 25], with respect to their nature of predisposition to cancer, were selected for clinical, cytogenetic and cyto-molecular studies to understand the severity of genomic instability according to the nature of the different diseases. Cytogenetic studies included chromosomal aberration (CA) assays and cytokinesis block micronucleus cytome (CBMN-Cyt) assays. In DS, MCA and AA, average frequencies of nuclear anomalies (NA) were 0.

From April 11(th) to 9(th) June 2014, World Health Organization (WHO) reported a total of 402 laboratory confirmed cases of MERS from KSA, out of which 132 cases were reported from Riyadh alone.
Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge and apprehension of patients about MERS visiting Al Farabi College of Dentistry, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Introduction: Spatio-ecological study of disease provides a framework to study the interaction of genetic, environmental, social, cultural and behavioural factors on people's health. The occurrence and interaction of these factors are different in different places, giving rise to distinct geographic or spatial variation. Diseases like breast cancer have variation both spatially and temporally.
