Importance: Literature surrounding conservative management of voiding dysfunction (VD) due to pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is limited.
Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of pessaries on VD in women with symptomatic POP.
Study Design: This was a retrospective case series of adult women who underwent a pessary fitting for POP and VD between January 2010 to December 2022 at 2 tertiary care centers.
Importance: There are limited data to guide practices to reduce surgical site infections following sacral neuromodulation; however, many surgeons prescribe prophylactic postoperative antibiotics after device implantation.
Objective: The aim of the study was to compare the proportion of patients with sacral neuromodulation device-associated surgical site infections after use of prophylactic postoperative antibiotics versus none.
Study Design: This was a multicenter retrospective cohort study of patients undergoing sacral neuromodulation device implantation at 11 institutions from January 2014 to December 2023, comparing outcomes in patients who did versus did not receive prophylactic postoperative antibiotic treatment.

Importance: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most common complication of intradetrusor onabotulinumtoxinA (BTX-A) injection. Despite this, there are no evidence-based guidelines on antibiotic prophylaxis.
Objectives: Our primary aim was to determine whether antibiotic prophylaxis decreased symptomatic, culture-proven UTI rates within 6 weeks of intradetrusor BTX-A injection.
Introduction And Hypothesis: Sacrocolpopexy (SCP) is the gold standard surgical management of apical pelvic organ prolapse (POP), and increasingly, minimally invasive SCP is being adopted as a primary treatment for advanced uterovaginal prolapse. Patients undergoing surgery for POP consider postoperative improvement in sexual function to be a highly important outcome, and sexual dysfunction and dyspareunia severe adverse events. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the impact of minimally invasive SCP on postoperative sexual function.

Over the years, surgical advancements have transformed the procedure from a laparotomy with a hospital stay of several days to a minimally invasive approach with a much shorter hospital stay. One recent innovation has the potential to transform minimally invasive sacrocolpopexy.

Literature is limited regarding obesity as an independent risk factor for perioperative complications after reconstructive pelvic surgery (RPS).
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the association of obesity on 30-day perioperative complications after RPS.
Latent fingermarks are enhanced in order to be visible and available for comparison to determine source. Once a fingermark has been identified to a source, the activity that led to it being left on a particular surface may need to be determined. It has been previously shown that under certain conditions fingermarks initially deposited onto a surface (the primary transfer) can be transferred on to another substrate through direct contact - secondary transfer.

This study aims to identify the impact of OTT on overall survival (OS) for women with completely resected, node-positive squamous cell carcinomas of the vulva.
Materials And Methods: The National Cancer Data Base was queried for women with surgically resected, node-positive vulvar squamous cell carcinomas between 2004 and 2016 who were treated with adjuvant radiation therapy.
Background: Various theories provide guidance on implementing, sustaining and evaluating innovations within healthcare. There has been less attention given, however, to personal theories drawn from practice and the expertise of managers and front-line staff is a largely untapped resource. In this paper, we share learning from experienced improvement organisations to provide a conceptual level explanation of the conditions necessary to facilitate and sustain improvement at scale.

A laborist is a dedicated obstetrician within the obstetric ward who oversees the management of labor and performs deliveries as both the primary physician and also when consulted by other providers, including community obstetricians, family physicians and nurse midwives. In 2014, a collaborative obstetric model was implemented with the addition of an in-house certified nurse midwife (CNM) to assist the laborist in obstetric care.

Due to the limited research investigating the effect of the GI or GL of the diet on salivary steroidal hormones, this explorative short study was conducted. 12 female participants consumed a low GI and a high GI diet for three days each, followed by a washout period between each intervention.

Additionally, leaving AMA may dramatically increase medical costs due to failure to complete treatment resulting in higher risk of readmission with additional co-morbidities.
Methods: Retrospective study of inpatients utilizing the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) 2012 National Inpatient Sample (NIS) database.
A 62-year-old Caucasian woman was found to have an aneurysm of the splenomesenteric portal venous confluence via computed tomography (CT) scan after presenting with left upper abdominal tenderness. Venous aneurysms typically occur in the popliteal, jugular, and saphenous veins, but visceral venous aneurysms are rare. These aneurysms most commonly arise from the main portal vein and the confluence of the splenic and superior mesenteric veins.

This paper is the first report of field performance and evaluation of morphological traits following cryopreservation in four genotypes of Carica papaya (Z6, 97, TS2 and 35). It also describes the successful establishment of in vitro plantlets following vitrification-based cryopreservation of shoot tips and their acclimatisation through to field establishment. Cloned plants resulting from untreated controls, as well as controls taken at three other stages of the cryopreservation process (dissection, pre-treatment, plant vitrification solution 2 (PVS2) treatment) and cryopreserved plants were established to ensure a rigorous appraisal of any variation.

A vitrification based cryopreservation technique for storage of in vitro shoot tips of papaya has been tested to ensure applicability across a range of genotypes and to assess the stability of both genotype and phenotype of such clonal material following cryopreservation. Shoot tips of 12 genotypes were cryopreserved, recovery rates were determined and resultant plants were screened for genetic and epigenetic changes. Genomic DNA structure was explored using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based randomly amplified DNA fingerprinting (RAF), and methylation patterns were monitored using the amplified DNA methylation polymorphism (AMP) PCR technique.
