Introduction: Inflammatory bowel disease patients are exposed to frequent procedures and hospital admissions as well as recurrent need for radiological examinations with a high risk of exposure to radiation and contrast.

Aim: Our objective was to evaluate the role of a combination of both intestinal ultrasound (IUS) and colour Doppler with different parameters for monitoring changes in inflammation over time and to reveal their potential role in the assessment of response to biologic therapy in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients.

Material And Methods: Before the induction of biological therapy, IUS together with colour Doppler of the intestine was conducted.

Herein, the molecular hybridization drug discovery approach was used in the design and synthesis of twelve novel pyridine-2,3-dihydrothiazole hybrids (2a,b-5a,b and 13a,b-14a,b) and fourteen pyridine-thiazolidin-4-one hybrids (6a,b-12a,b) as anti-proliferative analogues targeting CDK2 and GSK3β kinase inhibition. Almost all of the newly synthesized hybrids, including their precursors (1a,b), were evaluated for their anti-proliferative activity against three human cancer cell lines-MCF-7, HepG2 and HEp-2-as well as normal Vero cell lines. Both compounds 1a (pyridine-thiourea precursor) and 8a (pyridine-5-acetyl-thiazolidin-4-one hybrid) exhibited excellent anti-proliferative activity against HEp-2 (IC = 7.

Obesity is predicted to affect approximately one-quarter of children/adolescents in Saudi Arabia by 2030, but there is limited evidence regarding the perceptions, attitudes, behaviours, and barriers to effective obesity care for adolescents living with obesity (ALwO), caregivers of ALwO, and healthcare professionals (HCPs). We report data from 500 ALwO (aged 12-<18 years), 500 caregivers, and 200 HCPs surveyed in Saudi Arabia as part of the global, cross-sectional ACTION Teens study (NCT05013359). Nearly all respondents recognized that obesity has a strong impact on overall health (ALwO 88%; caregivers 85%; HCPs 90%).

Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers are widely employed as pour point depressants to enhance the flow properties of crude oil. However, EVA copolymers have limitations that necessitate their development. This work investigated the modification of EVA via gamma radiation-induced grafting of butyl acrylate (BuA) monomers and the evaluation of grafted EVA as a pour point depressant for crude oil.

Background And Purpose: Doxazosin mesylate (DOX) is an antihypertensive drug that possesses poor water solubility and, hence, poor release properties. Both nanosuspensions and self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems (SNEDDS) are becoming nanotechnology techniques for the enhancement of water solubility of different drugs.

Experimental Approach: The study's goal was to identify the best drug delivery system able to enhance the release and antihypertensive effect of DOX by comparing the physical characteristics such as particle size, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency, release rate, and main arterial blood pressure of DOX-loaded nanosuspensions and SNEDDS in liquid and solid form.

In this study, the efficacy of the promising iron-based polymeric inorganic coagulant (POFC) was assessed for the reduction of eutrophication effect (freshwater toxicity) and the microbial loads from wastewater. Toxicity assessment for POFC was conducted on mice and skin cell lines. The results confirm the lower toxicity level of POFC.

The management of coronavirus necessitates that medicines are available, reasonably priced, and easy to administer. The work aimed at formulating and characterizing remdesivir and licorice extract nanoemulsions and comparing their efficacy against coronavirus for further subcutaneous injection. First, the solubility of remdesivir was determined in different oils, surfactants, and co-surfactants to choose the optimal nanoemulsion components.

In this review, the importance of corrosion inhibitors in desalination plants is briefly discussed, with an emphasis on the various types for effective corrosion control techniques. The review highlighted the most significant corrosion inhibitors used in desalination plants for minimizing the corrosiveness of the source water throughout pretreatment, reverse osmosis, and post-treatment stages. Water composition, temperature and pressure, pH, dissolved oxygen, flow velocity, chloride content, fouling, and scaling are all described as factors affecting corrosion in desalinated water.

Novel Schiff bases (SBs), namely, ,-bis(2-(((E)-4-chlorobenzylidene)amino)ethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (I), ,-bis(2-(((E)-4-(dimethylamino)benzylidene)amino)ethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine (II), and ,'-(ethane-1,2-diyl)bis(-((((Z)-4-dimethylamino)benzylidene) amino)methylethane-1,2-diamine) (III), were prepared and characterized by using elemental analysis, IR, and H NMR spectroscopy. For assessing carbon steel in diverse settings, with and without inhibitors at varying concentrations, electrochemical frequency modulation (EFM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and potentiodynamic polarization (PP) techniques were employed. The results showed that the synthesized inhibitors effectively decreased the corrosion rate of carbon steel in acidic media and the inhibition efficiency reached up to 93% for compound III at a concentration of 250 ppm.
