Objective: The purpose of this study was to implement a 2-phase approach to rapidly increase the number of annual wellness visits (AWVs) and build a sustainable model at 3 study units (Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and clinics in 2 regions of Mayo Clinic Health System), which collectively serve approximately 80 000 patients who qualify for an AWV annually.

Methods: In the rapid improvement phase, beginning in July 2022, goals at the facilities were reoriented to prioritize AWVs, educate staff on existing AWV resources, and create low-effort workflows so that AWVs could be incorporated into existing patient appointments. Staff at all 3 study units worked independently and iterated quickly.

Background: Substance use and overdose deaths make up a substantial portion of injury-related deaths in the United States, with the state of Ohio leading the nation in rates of diagnosed substance use disorder (SUD). Ohio's growing epidemic has indicated a need to improve SUD care in a primary care setting through the engagement of multidisciplinary providers and the use of a comprehensive approach to care.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the ability of the Weitzman Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO): Comprehensive Substance Use Disorder Care program to both address and meet 7 series learning objectives and address substances by analyzing (1) the frequency of exposure to the learning objective topics and substance types during case discussions and (2) participants' change in knowledge, self-efficacy, attitudes, and skills related to the treatment of SUDs pre- to postseries.

This paper investigates the potential for reducing the complexity of AI and Law and empirical legal studies projects through a novel annotation methodology that relies on GPT Family Models to assist human annotators. Improving the speed, cost and quality of annotation could greatly benefit such projects. In modelling types of legal claims, researchers in the fields of empirical legal studies and AI and Law have long relied on manually annotating factors in case texts.

Background: Previous retrospective studies suggest a good diagnostic performance of F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (F-FDG-PET)/computed tomography (CT) in left ventricular assist device (LVAD) infections. Our aim was to prospectively evaluate the role of PET/CT in the characterization and impact on clinical management of LVAD infections.

Methods: A total of 40 patients (aged 58 [53-62] years) with suspected LVAD infection and 5 controls (aged 69 [64-71] years) underwent F-FDG-PET/CT.

The use of Impella assist device for high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions and cardiogenic shock has increased in the last decade and requires a large bore arterial access (LBA). However, LBA closure following Impella removal is associated with significant complications. Herein, we describe the safety and efficacy of a novel method of LBA closure using arterial recoil following Impella removal.

The fungus (Mvc) causes mummy berry disease in blueberries including lowbush blueberry, , and is a significant pathogen of concern for Maine lowbush blueberry growers. This disease is typically managed with fungicides or by burning of plant debris containing overwintering pseudosclerotia. The population structure of Mvc in various fields in Maine was investigated using microsatellites and isolates collected from three stages in the Mvc lifecycle.

Ambulatory staffing to workload based on visit volume in an outpatient setting is an elusive formula, and the literature describing such processes is limited. One health system tasked a multidisciplinary team with developing an ambulatory staffing to workload tool to meet the needs of staff, management, and leadership. The resultant tool includes an automated dashboard for determining staffing needs on the basis of quantified workload, prospective modeling, and historical dashboards to demonstrate actual staffing (full-time equivalents) to workload (outpatient volumes) compared with budget.

Background: Reporting retention data is critical to determining the soundness of a study's conclusions (internal validity) and broader generalizability (external validity). Although selective attrition can lead to overestimates of effects, biased conclusions, or overly expansive generalizations, retention rates are not reported in many longitudinal studies.

Methods: We examined multiple child- and family-level factors potentially associated with retention in a longitudinal study of younger siblings of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD;  = 304) or typical development ( = 163).

Purpose: Although medical care for transgender and gender nonbinary (TGNB) individuals is rapidly expanding, numerous gaps in the organization of quality care for TGNB individuals remain. In 2018, the Mount Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS) expanded its unified care approach to integrate services with an interdisciplinary inpatient team for surgical patients as part of the program. The inpatient team connected with the existing interdisciplinary ambulatory team with all pertinent medical and psychosocial information shared between the teams.
