There is an increasing global acknowledgment of the critical role that men have as key partners in maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH). Most male-engagement initiatives do not address the perceived benefits and risks that women may experience because of increased male participation in MNCH, especially in Kenya. The aim of this study, therefore, is to qualitatively assess how women perceive and experience increased male engagement in MNCH in western Kenya.

Introduction: Laser ablation using a 980-nm wavelength diode laser, which is a new-generation laser, for recurrent bladder cancer is known to have a lower incidence of complications and recurrence than conventional transurethral resection of bladder tumor surgery. This is the first study to report the use of 980-nm diode laser ablation for recurrent non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer in Japan.

Estimating Cost Savings of Care Coordination for Older Adults: Evidence from the Iowa Return to Community Program.

In response to rising costs associated with providing health care services to Americans over 65 years old, policymakers have called for the expansion of care coordination programs to reduce total spending while improving patient outcomes and provider efficiency. This study uses a Markov Chain model to estimate financial impacts associated with the implementation of a care coordination program across the state of Iowa. Estimates revealed an association between the implementation of the Iowa Return to Community (IRTC) and a reduction in health care service use, which yielded per capita cost savings of $7,920.

Patients with ischemic stroke or TIA admitted between April 2014 and September 2015 were prospectively enrolled and followed for up to 5 years after the index stroke or TIA. Primary outcome measures were any cause of death and stroke recurrence.

Efficacy of behavioural parent training on attachment security in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: a randomised controlled trial.

Background: Behavioural parent training (BPT) is a psychosocial intervention designed for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). BPT programs teach parents to use effective commands or rules whilst encouraging them to pay careful attention to their child's appropriate behaviour. In this study, we will investigate the efficacy of BPT on parental stress, mothers' sense of emotional closeness to their children, and children's attachment security to their mothers.

We conducted twenty semi-structured interviews with older adults as an exploratory study about perceived food-related responsibilities. The government and agribusiness were seen as responsible for food safety and how healthy foods are.

Using Clustering Methods to Map the Experience Profiles of Dementia Caregivers.

Background And Objectives: Caregivers of persons living with dementia report wide-ranging lived experiences, including feelings of burden and frustration but also positivity about caregiving. This study applies clustering methodology to novel survey data to explore variation in caregiving experience profiles, which could then be used to design and target caregiver interventions aimed at improving caregiver well-being.

Research Design And Methods: The -means clustering algorithm partitioned a sample of 81 caregivers from the Midwest region of the United States on the basis of 8 variables capturing caregiver emotions, attitudes, knowledge, and network perceptions (: burden, anxiety, network malfeasance; network nonfeasance; : positive aspects of caregiving, preparedness and confidence in community-based care, knowledge about community services for older adults, and network uplift).

This study aimed to develop community-based referral networks of organizations to facilitate the uptake of evidence-based falls prevention programs through engaging older adults at risk for falls with the RememberingWhen™ program and connecting them to evidence-based programs in Midwestern communities. Guided by the Practical, Robust Implementation and Sustainability Model (PRISM), referral networks were developed in two Midwestern communities (urban and micropolitan) through a seven-step community engagement plan: establishing and operationalizing the State-level Advisory Board (SAB), identifying falls prevention resources, conducting community assessments, developing Local Advisory Groups (LAG), operationalizing the LAG, developing referral network and protocols, and implementing the network.
