Article Synopsis
  • Foodborne diseases (FBD) are a significant global public health issue, largely due to inadequate knowledge and practices among food handlers in public service settings.
  • A study conducted in Woldia town, Northeast Ethiopia, assessed the food handling practices (FHPs) of 288 food handlers, using questionnaires and observational checklists to gather data on demographic factors and handling practices.
  • Results indicated that only 46.5% of the participants demonstrated good FHPs, and factors such as older age, higher education levels, longer work experience, formal training, and regular inspections were positively associated with better handling practices.
