Metal oxide nanoparticles(NPs) contain unique properties which have made them attractive agents in cancer treatment. The CuO nanoparticles were green synthesized using walnut shell powder in different calcination temperatures (400°, 500°, 700°, and 900 °C). The CuO nanoparticles are characterized by FTIR, XRD, BET, SEM and DLS analyses.

The use of diagnostic radiation in medical centers has spread due to the incidence of various diseases. Thus, it is essential that patients and medical staff wear protective clothing to protect themselves from their harmful effects. In the past, lead protective clothing has been used; however, the toxicity and heaviness of lead have limited the tendency to use these clothing.

In this study, antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancer effects of Cu nanoparticles (CuNPs) fixed on cellulosic walnut shell material were investigated. Firstly, three types of walnut shell-supported copper nanoparticles with various sizes (CuNP-WS1 15-22 nm, CuNP-WS2 60-80 nm and, CuNP-WS3 aggregated of metallic nanoparticles) were synthesized. Antibacterial properties of CuNPs were studied on three strains of bacteria; , and .

Blood selenium and trace minerals play an important role in animal's health and production. The aims of this study were to determine selenium effect on blood glutathione peroxidase (GPX) activity, trace minerals and weight gain in lambs. Twelve female Makuei breed were studied for 63 days in groups of control, nanoselenium (NanoSe) and sodium selenite (NaSe).

The purpose of this study is the development and validation of a simple, novel, selective and fast off-line microextraction technique combining capillary electrophoresis with in-column field-amplified sample injection (FASI) for the simultaneous determination of capecitabine (CAP) and its active metabolite, 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU), in human plasma. At the moment, there is a lack of using cost-effective CE tool combined with novel miniaturized sample clean-up techniques for analysis of these important anti-cancer agents in plasma samples. This paper intends to fill this gap and describe a simple off-line sample pretreatment by means of AgNPs@MCM-41 reinforced hollow fiber Solid/Liquid phase microextraction (AgNPs@MCM41-HF-SLPME) with subsequent quantitation by FASI-CE.

A novel SBA-15 functionalized palladium complex partially confined with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ionic liquid (Material 4) was found to be a very efficient and reusable catalyst in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction of aryl halides including aryl chlorides and heteroaryl halides with different aryl boronic acids under aqueous conditions without any organic co-solvents. Our studies showed that 4 is a more efficient catalyst in comparison with the catalyst not containing IL or catalyst with a higher ratio of IL. The materials were characterized by N(2)-sorption analysis, TGA and transmission electron microscopy before and after catalysis.
