Long non-coding RNAs: The modulators of innate and adaptive immune cells.

Before very sensitive current genomics platforms were discovered, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as controllers of gene expression, were thought to be accumulated genetic garbage. The past few years have seen a lot of interest in a large classification of non-coding transcripts with an indeterminate length of more than 200 nucleotides [1]. lncRNAs' association with immunity and disease progression has been revealed by a growing body of experimental research.
