Background: Diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) significantly impacts patients' quality of life, with existing treatments offering limited relief. Self-administered acupressure presents a potential non-invasive, cost-effective treatment option that could alleviate symptoms and enhance health outcomes in these patients.

Aim: This randomized controlled trial aimed to evaluate the effect of active acupressure compared to sham acupressure on primary and secondary outcomes among IBS-D patients.

Toxic workplace environments, especially those involving gaslighting, are known to contribute to stress and excessive work habits, such as workaholism, which may hinder a nurse's agility-an essential skill in adapting to fast-paced healthcare environments. However, the interplay between workplace gaslighting, workaholism, and agility in nursing remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate the relationship between workplace gaslighting, workaholism, and agility among nurses, focusing on how gaslighting moderates this relationship.

: The barrier properties of the human small intestine play a crucial role in regulating digestion, nutrient absorption and drug metabolism. Current in vitro organotypic models consist only of an epithelium, which does not take into account the possible role of stromal cells such as fibroblasts or the extracellular matrix (ECM) which could contribute to epithelial barrier properties. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine whether these stromal cells or ECM were beneficial or detrimental to barrier function when incorporated into an organotypic human small intestine model.

Background: The common techniques used in nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) are hydrodissection (tumescent dissection) and electrocautery. We hypothesized that bipolar scissors (diathermy scissors) would improve surgical outcomes in mastectomy.

Methods: We prospectively compared 50 patients undergoing NSM using the bipolar scissor technique to retrospective data from patients who had previously undergone NSM with hydrodissection (n = 50) or electrocautery (n = 50).

Aims: This study aims to identify the impact of climate change anxiety and asthma control on asthmatics' quality of life and examine the moderating role of climate change anxiety in this linkage.

Method: A multi-national cross-sectional study was conducted in four Arabian countries on 1266 asthmatics selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected from November 2023 to February 2024 using a climate anxiety scale, mini-asthma quality of life questionnaire, and an asthma control questionnaire.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how organisational agility relates to nurses' green work behavior and how climate activism influences this relationship, focusing on sustainable healthcare practices.
  • Conducted in 2024 across eight Egyptian hospitals with 781 nurses, the research used validated tools to measure the variables and analyzed them to establish connections.
  • Findings reveal that greater organisational agility and climate activism positively correlate with green work behavior, with climate activism partially mediating this effect, suggesting that flexible, environmentally-conscious practices can enhance sustainability in nursing.

Article Synopsis
  • The study looks at how being ignored at work (workplace ostracism) can lead nurses to put off their tasks (procrastination).
  • It also explores how not speaking up about problems (organizational silence) makes this situation worse.
  • The researchers found that when nurses feel ignored and stay silent about issues, they are more likely to delay their work and it affects their overall performance.

Aim: Clinical and radiographic evaluation of the efficacy of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and treated dentin matrix (TDM) in regenerative endodontic treatment and periapical healing of nonvital immature permanent teeth with chronic apical periodontitis.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-four children aged between 7 and 11 years, each presenting with a nonvital immature permanent upper central incisor, were selected. They were randomly allocated into two groups ( = 12), group I (PRF) and group II (TDM).

Background: Climate changes have led to health and environmental risks, so it has become essential to measure climate change literacy among the entire population, especially nursing students. The significant role of nursing students in raising public awareness and future healthcare roles emphasizes assessing the predictors of climate change literacy among nursing students.

Aims: This study seeks to identify the predictors of climate change literacy among nursing students in A Multi-Site Survey.

Aim: This study was designed to examine the relationship between humble leadership and nurses' turnover intention and investigate the moderating role of leader expertise in this relationship.

Background: Leader humility and expertise are two key dimensions of professional spirit in competitive magnet organizations. Many organizational factors could make nurses take a decision to leave their organization; however, leader humility and expertise could help nurses retract from this decision.

Background: Immediate action is required to address some complications of implant-based reconstruction after mastectomy to prevent reconstruction failure. Implant exchange may be simple but poses the risk of further complications while autologous flap reconstruction seems more complex but may pose less subsequent risk. Which of these is preferable remains unclear.

Article Synopsis
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common condition leading to hand pain and numbness, and its severity may be affected by stress and coping strategies.
  • The study investigated how different coping strategies—adaptive (positive) and maladaptive (negative)—influence the impact of perceived stress on CTS symptoms and functionality in 215 patients from three hospitals in Egypt.
  • Findings indicated that adaptive coping positively moderates the effects of perceived stress on symptom severity and functional status, highlighting the importance of coping strategies in managing CTS.

Introduction: Since small intestine is one of the major barriers of the human body, there is a need to develop reliable in vitro human small intestinal models. These models should incorporate both the epithelial and lamina propria compartments and have similar barrier properties compared to that of the human tissue. These properties are essential for various applications, such as studying cell-cell interaction, intestinal diseases and testing permeability and metabolism of drugs and other compounds.

  • - The study compares cardiac event rates in left breast cancer patients undergoing adjuvant radiotherapy using two techniques: breath-hold (DIBH) and free breathing (FB), involving a retrospective review of 432 patients.
  • - Results showed that the doses received by the heart and the left anterior descending artery were significantly lower in the DIBH group compared to the FB group, leading to fewer cardiac events, although the difference was not statistically significant.
  • - Key risk factors for cardiac events identified in the DIBH group included age, diabetes, hypertension, smoking, and radiation dose to the heart, with hypertension and smoking being independent risk factors.
