Background: This study aimed to assess the effect of malocclusion severity according to the Index of Treatment Need (IOTN) on oral health (dental caries and gingivitis), and its correlation with socioeconomic status (SES) in Iranian adolescents.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on adolescents between 10 and 16 years in Tehran city, who underwent clinical dental examination. The Dental Health Component (DHC) of the IOTN was used to assess the severity of malocclusion.
Background And Aim: Diabetes raises the risk of dementia, mortality, and cognitive decline in the elderly, potentially because of hereditary variables such as APOE. In this study, we aim to evaluate Diabetes mellitus and the risk of incident dementia in APOE ɛ4 carriers.
Method: We thoroughly searched PubMed (Medline), Scopus, and Google Scholar databases for related articles up to September 2023.
Background: Lip incompetence is an important issue in orthodontics. No study has evaluated the effects of the combination of headgear + lip exercises on lip incompetence. Therefore, this study was conducted.

The effect of various doses of the hydro-alcoholic extract of leaves on the pituitary-gonadal axis, sperm motility and number, antioxidant system, changes in testicular tissue structure, and spermatogenesis in healthy and diabetic rats has been examined in the current study. Eighty male rats that had been streptozotocin-induced diabetic and healthy were divided into eight groups: (1) control, (2) (50 mg/kg), (3) (100 mg/kg), (4) (200 mg/kg), (5) DM (6) DM+ (50 mg/kg), (7) DM+ (100 mg/kg) and (8) DM+ (200 mg/kg) and were administered orally for 48 days consecutive.

However, OTCT is associated with massive follicle loss. Here, we aimed to determine the effect of supplementation of slow freezing and vitrification media with BAPTA-AM and melatonin alone and in combination on ovarian tissue viability, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, total antioxidant capacity (TAC), and follicular morphology and viability.

It is ideal to perform the cryopreservation procedure at a tissue removal site or local hospital before shipment to cost-effective centralized cryobanks. However, conventional liquid nitrogen-based freezers are not portable and require expensive infrastructure.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA geometric digital twin (gDT) model capable of leveraging acquired 3D geometric data plays a vital role in digitizing the process of structural health monitoring. This study presents a framework for generating and updating digital twins of existing buildings by inferring semantic information from as-is point clouds (gDT's data) acquired regularly from laser scanners (gDT's connection). The information is stored in updatable Building Information Models (BIMs) as gDT's virtual model, and dimensional outputs are extracted for structural health monitoring (gDT's service) of different structural members and shapes (gDT's physical part).

In this sense, Sentinel-2 satellite images of the Copernicus program offer spatial, spectral, temporal, and radiometric characteristics with great potential for mapping and monitoring PTs. In addition, the selection of a best-performing algorithm needs to be considered for obtaining PT classification as accurate as possible.

Identification and monitoring of PEUs in a heterogeneous landscape is the most difficult task in medium resolution satellite images datasets. The main objective of this study is to compare pixel-based classification versus object-based classification for accurately classifying PEUs with four selected different algorithms across heterogeneous rangelands in Central Zagros, Iran.

Despite a long history of Earth observation applications to assess and monitor land covers, the quantitative detection of sparse VTs remains problematic, especially in arid and semiarid areas. This research aimed to identify appropriate multi-temporal datasets to improve the accuracy of VTs classification in a heterogeneous landscape in Central Zagros, Iran.

However, OTCT is associated with follicle loss and an accompanying short lifespan of the grafts. Cryopreservation-induced damage could be due to cryoprotective agent (CPA) toxicity and osmotic shock.

In particular, medicinal plants with rich amounts of beneficial components such as flavonoids are one of the most promising therapeutic candidates for the cognitive deficit and memory loss. Herein, we aimed to review the impact of medicinal plants with focus on flavonoids on cognitive dysfunction, learning and memory loss by considering their signaling pathways.

Air Transportation is a major contributor to international mobility and has high requirements to ensure safe and secure operations. Aircraft ground operations are impacted significantly by the current pandemic situation so that standard operating procedures need a redesign to incorporate the upcoming sanitation requirements. In particular, the passenger boarding process is challenged with requirements for physical distances between passengers, while in addition to standard cleaning, the cabin has to be disinfected after each flight.

Most of these enzymes are originated from terrestrial fungi and bacteria, thus they are not proper to be used in the environments with neutral/alkaline pH, or they may require laborious extraction/purification steps. These limitations can be solved using marine spore laccases through high stability and easy to use application.

The virulence of UPEC strains differs based on their pathogenicity islands (PAIs) and susceptibility to antibiotics. The present study evaluates the clonal relationship and antibiotic susceptibility of UPEC PAI-genotypes among () isolates from kidney transplant patients.
