Background: Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs) are the preferred candidates for therapeutics as they possess multi-directional differentiation potential, exhibit potent immunomodulatory activity, are anti-inflammatory, and can function like antimicrobials. These capabilities have therefore encouraged scientists to undertake numerous preclinical as well as a few clinical trials to access the translational potential of MSCs in disease therapeutics. In spite of these efforts, the efficacy of MSCs has not been consistent-as is reflected in the large variation in the values of outcome measures like survival rates.

Materials And Methods: The study was performed in tumor tissue from patients with low and high grade urothelial carcinoma, in normal urothelial tissue and in the T24 cell line. Autophagic vesicles and the expression of various autophagic proteins were studied in tissue samples by transmission electron microscopy and Western blot, respectively.
In the recent past, low cholesterol eggs enriched with vitamin-E and omega-3 fatty acid have been developed and are marketed under different brands claiming them as heart friendly. The influence of these eggs (smart eggs) on lipid profile of rats was evaluated in comparison to that of the standard eggs. Data of 4 week dietary treatment revealed that total plasma cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol increased only 22% in rats fed on diet containing 4 smart eggs per kg of semi-synthetic diet in contrast to the increase of more than 100 % when fed on diet containing standard eggs.
