Gastric cancer (GC) is a common malignant tumor and the third most common cancer in China in terms of mortality. Stomach microorganisms play complex roles in the development of GC. The carcinogenic mechanism of Helicobacter pylori has been elucidated, and there is much evidence that other microorganisms in the gastric mucosa are also heavily involved in the disease progression of this cancer.

In total, 248 dumper operators working in an iron ore mine were considered for this study. A questionnaire was developed and administered to collect dumper operators' personal, habitual, and work-related data.

Compared to new drug development, this method is fast, low in cost, and effective. Through the use of outstanding bioinformatics tools, such as computer-aided drug design (CADD), computer strategies play a vital role in the re-transformation of drugs.

The composite pericommissural defects can then be reconstructed with double cutaneous paddles in Pacman-style free radial forearm flap (PFRFF). This novel single-stage continent reconstruction of composite post-excisional commissure and pericommissural (CPECPC) defects is evaluated in this study.

The pandemic is causing an explosion in cloud migration, expected that by 2025, 95% of workloads will live in the cloud. One of the challenges of the cloud is data security.

Freeze-dried and cooked starch (FDS) granules were found to have different shapes and collapsed arrangement whereas freshly cooked starch (FCS) granules had the least varied structures. The freeze-dried flours had larger structures compared to freshly cooked flours.

In majority of the dialysis units in India, nutritional advice is given by health professionals working in dialysis. We compared the impact of dietary counseling by a renal dietitian, on nutritional status with that by health professionals working in dialysis units in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis.

They are phlegmasia alba dolens, phlegmasia cerulean dolens (PCD), and venous gangrene. The term PCD differentiates ischemia-associated massive venous thrombosis from phlegmasia alba dolens, which describes fulminant venous thrombosis without ischemia.

The literature, particularly from India, is scarce on the renal effects of glyphosate poisoning. Glyphosate causes toxicity not only after its ingestion but also after dermal exposure by inhalation route and on eye exposure. We present a patient report of glyphosate consumption which resulted in toxic epidermal necrolysis - the first report after glyphosate consumption and acute kidney injury.

Methods: The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectroscopy methods. The title compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity, and molecular docking studies were conducted.
Scrub typhus, or tsutsugamushi fever, is a zoonosis of rural Asia and the western Pacific islands. The causative organism, Orientia (formerly Rickettsia) tsutsugamushi, is transmitted to humans by the bite of a larval Leptotrombidium mite (chigger). Scrub typhus may have gastrointestinal presentations, such as acute acalculous cholecystitis, duodenal ulcer perforation, peritonitis and gastric ulceration.

We retrospectively analyzed patients treated with a low fixed dose of capecitabine (CAPE-L) at 1,000 mg twice daily for 14 days every 21 days. Outcomes included clinical benefit rate (CBR), overall response rates (ORR), time to progression (TTP), and overall survival (OS).

The relationship between diabetes and root caries has not received much attention in the literature; therefore the objectives of the present study were to assess the root surface caries among type 2 diabetic patients and the factors affecting root surface caries. A hospital based cross-sectional study was done among type 2 diabetics visiting a medical hospital in Bangalore. Those who had been diagnosed from at least past 5 years and were above 35 years of age were included.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAims: Recent genome-wide association studies have identified several Type 2 diabetes-related loci. We investigated the effect of susceptibility genetic variants, individually, together and in combination with conventional risk factors, on Type 2 diabetes and diabetes-related traits in Indians.
Methods: We genotyped 33 variants in 1808 Indian patients and 1549 control subjects and performed association analyses with Type 2 diabetes and related traits using an additive model for individual variant and for genetic risk score based on 32 polymorphisms.
Few studies have investigated the association between genetic variation and obesity traits in Indian populations or the role of environmental factors as modifiers of these relationships. In the context of rapid urbanisation, resulting in significant lifestyle changes, understanding the aetiology of obesity is important. We investigated associations of FTO and MC4R variants with obesity traits in 3390 sibling pairs from four Indian cities, most of whom were discordant for current dwelling (rural or urban).

HLA has been thought to play a role in RM. However, the results of earlier studies on the role of different human leucocyte antigen (HLA) genes were conflicting and inconclusive.

However, not many attempts have been made to associate the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) variations with RPL. Therefore, we have analyzed the complete mtDNA of 100 women with RPL and 12 aborted fetal tissues.

The 14-bp polymorphism in exon 8 is associated with HLA-G messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) stability and isoform alternative splicing patterns, thereby influencing the functionality of HLA-G in pregnancy. We analysed the 14-bp indel polymorphism in 143 recurrent spontaneous abortions (RSAs) and 150 control couples.

We recruited 143 recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) and 150 control couples for the study. DNA-based typing of the HLA-G was carried out to explore if we can validate the patterns of association reported elsewhere or find association of novel HLA-G alleles with RSA in the Indian population.
