Background: Prediabetes Risk Test (PRT) has been found valid in the Western population for screening prediabetes. However, ethnicity, race, geographical and other biological characteristics have been linked to the development of prediabetes. Forty primigravidae at the 32nd week of pregnancy and forty non-pregnant women who were matched for age and anthropometric measurements participated in this cross-sectional comparison study. Static posturography equipment was used to record the anteroposterior sway velocity, mediolateral sway velocity, and velocity moment during normal stance and when vision, proprioception, and base of support were compromised.

In people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) there is an increase in BMR which is said to be associated with the level of glycaemic control.
