External validation of Prediabetes Risk Test in Indian population for screening prediabetes.

Background: Prediabetes Risk Test (PRT) has been found valid in the Western population for screening prediabetes. However, ethnicity, race, geographical and other biological characteristics have been linked to the development of prediabetes. There is a dearth of literature on the external validity of PRT in the Indian population.

Application of digital technology in rehabilitation of total knee arthroplasty: A systematic review.

Purpose: Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) aids in reducing pain and improving knee mobility, function, and quality of life in osteoarthritis knee (OA Knee). Techology-based rehabiliation has proved to be promising post-TKA. The objective of this systematic review was to summarize the digital technology after TKA.

Comparison of static postural sway characteristics between pregnant and non-pregnant women.

The present study aimed to compare the postural sway between pregnant and non-pregnant women during eight different sensory conditions including those in which vision, proprioception, and base of support are compromised. Forty primigravidae at the 32nd week of pregnancy and forty non-pregnant women who were matched for age and anthropometric measurements participated in this cross-sectional comparison study. Static posturography equipment was used to record the anteroposterior sway velocity, mediolateral sway velocity, and velocity moment during normal stance and when vision, proprioception, and base of support were compromised.

Structured Total Knee Replacement Rehabilitation Programme and Quality of Life following Two Different Surgical Approaches - A Randomised Controlled Trial.

The key important factor influencing the outcomes following rehabilitation is the surgical approach involved in Total Knee Replacement (TKR). Most studies have analysed the functional outcome in comparing the approaches on surgical perspective rather on post-operative therapeutic interventions. The current study was to analyse the effects of structured TKR rehabilitation programme on the quality of life and joint specific outcomes between two different surgical approaches.

Correlation between basal metabolic rate, visceral fat and insulin resistance among type 2 diabetes mellitus with peripheral neuropathy.

Background: Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) means the amount of energy utilized by body in physical and psychological resting rate, after a night sleep, awake without any previous physical activity post meal (10 h after last meal) & neutral environment. In people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) there is an increase in BMR which is said to be associated with the level of glycaemic control. So, the objective of the study was to find out the correlation between BMR, Insulin resistance and Visceral fat in T2DM with peripheral neuropathy.

Effect of low level helium-neon (He-Ne) laser therapy in the prevention & treatment of radiation induced mucositis in head & neck cancer patients.

Background & Objectives: Oral mucositis is a common debilitating complication of radiotherapy occurring in about 60 per cent of cancer patients. Considerable buccal toxicity of radiotherapy or chemotherapy in cancer patients to become discouraged and can affect their quality of life. In addition, such toxicity can alter the treatment plan.
