The risk of blood-borne infections in Poland - opportunities and threats to public health, nationwide qualitative research.

Introduction: The article presents the diagnosis of the problem of blood-borne infections in Poland from perspectives of experts' opinions at the voivodship level. The evaluation became the basis for subsequent analysis, aimed at creating assumptions for the proposed strategies to prevent blood-borne infections in Poland.

Material And Methods: Diagnosis was based on the expertise of practitioners in epidemiology and service providers.

Strengths and Weaknesses in the Risk Management of Blood-Borne Infections: Qualitative Research in Public Health.

This article presents the research from the first phase of our study on blood-borne risk management, wherein we solicited epidemiologists' and healthcare practitioners' expert opinions on a blood-borne infection risk assessment in Poland. Forty-two experts were recommended by epidemiology consultants and recruited from all districts in Poland. We used the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) method in the evaluation.

Correlates of professional burnout in a sample of employees of cell and tissue banks in Poland.

Job Demands-Resources model proposes that the development of burnout follows excessive job demands and lack of job resources. Job demands are predictive of feeling of exhaustion, and lack of job resources-disengagement from work. This pilot study investigated professional burnout and its correlates in employees of Polish cell and tissue banks, many of whom were involved in procurement and processing of tissues from deceased donors, as it was hypothesized that job burnout in this population might influence the effectiveness of cell and tissue transplantation network in our country.
