The superconducting state properties of the CuBaCaCuO (Cu-1234) system, with a transition temperature as high as 117.5 K, were investigated. The ac magnetic susceptibility measurements confirmed a very sharp transition to the superconducting state.

Article Synopsis
  • Conducted electron transport and angle-resolved photo-emission spectroscopy (ARPES) on TaAs single crystals, revealing insights into the Fermi surface and carrier types.
  • Observed elliptical Fermi surface cross-sections and identified four types of charge carriers, including two electron and two hole types, through mobility spectrum analysis.
  • Theoretical calculations suggesting a slight n-doping of samples improve alignment with experimental ARPES data, positioning TaAs as a key material for studying Dirac and Weyl physics in three-dimensional systems.

The Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) manifesting in asymmetric layered ferromagnetic films gives rise to non-colinear spin structures stabilizing magnetization configurations with nontrivial topology. In this work magnetization reversal, magnetic domain alignment, and strength of DMI are related to the crystalline structure of W/Co/Pt multilayers grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The applied growth method enables the fabrication of layered systems with higher crystalline quality than commonly applied sputtering techniques.
