This paper investigated the influence of titanium carbide (TiC) content on the processing, microstructure, mechanical and tribological properties of Inconel 718/TiC composites produced by binder jetting additive manufacturing. It was found that increasing the amount of TiC required an increase of the drying intensity during printing due to a decrease in the thermal conductivity of the powder mixture. The sintering process also depended on the TiC content.

The morphological SEM analysis showed that the main morphological units of RP are macro- and micro-shish-kebab structures with significantly different geometric dimensions, as well as individual lamellae of folded chain crystals. A quantitative analysis of an asymmetric SAXS reflection made it possible to reveal the presence of several periodic morphoses in the RP with long periods ranging from 20 nm to 60 nm, and to correlate them with the observed powder morphology.

Fourteen new belousovite-related compounds, AZn(TO)X (A = K, Rb, Cs, Tl, NH; T = S, Se; X = Cl, Br, I) have been prepared via melt and evaporation techniques by reacting AX and ZnTO either at high temperatures or in hot aqueous solutions. They adopt the layered structure of the belousovite archetype, and constitute a morphotropic series. The apophyllite-type layers in these structures undergo different corrugations, most pronounced in the case of CsZn(SO)I.

Its crystal structure exhibits a unique cationic [PbO] framework hosting orientationally ordered NO triangles in the channels. Easy preparation and high thermal stability (until ∼500 °C in air) suggest it to be a new promising NLO material.
