The effect of fusicoccin on the common wheat genome (cv. Mironovskaya 808) during early phases of seed germination was studied. It was shown that fusicoccin: (1) increased the number of cells with one or two nucleoli and decreased the proportion of cells containing three and four nucleoli; (2) enhanced the total volume of nucleoli per nucleus at a concentration of 0.

The experiments on rats with toxic lesions of the liver induced by tetrachlorinemethane showed that parmidine (pyridinolcarbamat) promotes the reduction of the activity of lipid peroxidation in the liver tissue homogenates and erythrocytes. The pronounced tendency towards normalization of free-radical oxidation correlated with the positive dynamics of the histological picture of the liver.

During the formation and development of atherosclerosis the intensity of lipid peroxidation and the activity of antioxidant defence system significantly change. The use of parmidine decreases the contents of primary and secondary products of lipid peroxidation, reduces peroxide hemolysis of erythrocytes and increases the content of reduced glutathione in erythrocytes of patients with atherosclerosis. This shows that parmidine possessing the antioxidant properties stabilizes lipid peroxidation processes and normalizes the physiological antioxidant system.

By means of reflexometry 200 students were divided into three groups -- with high, medium and low work efficiency (WE) and mobility of cortical processes (MCP) and into three initial variations within each group. After studies WE and MCP change in the direction opposite to the initial in extreme variations and remain at the initial level in the mean variation. Direct correlation between WE and MCP and work reliability (WR) is found which is independent of the degree of their pronouncement.

The activity of cytochrome oxidase in tissues was decreased in short-term adaptation to reduce pO2 and administration of KCN in small doses. In the former case the activities of peroxidase and catalase were increased in blood. These effects as well as administration of Na2ATP into rats led to an increase in water content in tissues, to soption of acidic vital stain (phenol red) and to decrease in the ether-soluble fraction of lipids.
